If anyone is interested how these quotes came about, here is my story:
The first quote comes from an experience today that at the time didn't make a deep psychological impression on me as it does now. I was sitting between two friends when they started to fight each other using my arms. I didn't think anything of it and just let them figuring they'd only be whacking themselves. But then later, I felt a slight tingle on my right arm and when I checked, there was a semi-deep gash, most probably from my left arm.
At the time it wasn't a big thing and I just reacted with a, "Oh. I'm bleeding." But when I got home and thought about it, I realized that by allowing them to use me as a means of "hurting" each other, I was the only one who got injured.
Just to note, I'm not blaming my friends at all. I was the one who allowed it in the first place.
So just make sure you're not a carpet for anyone (though don't be over-egotistical then people will really slap you up for that).
