MK Armageddon: Enhanced Kreate-A-Fatality Koncept
I seriously cannot believe that Firefox had to crash just as I was about to post the original entry. [sarcasm]Of course I'm supposed to anticipate when it's gonna crash so I can back up the work elsewhere because we're all bloody Newtypes![/sarcasm]

*Silence*

Yeah, such crap is one reason I actually play MK in the process--makes for great stress relief, yes?

Anyways, this idea is meant to address the shortcomings of the Kreate-A-Fatality engine in MK:A, and those are:

1) Most of the characters in the roster can't even use their weapons in their Fatalities.
2) Those that can are stuck with whatever Fatality Scheme they are assigned.
3) Even if all characters could use weapons in their Fatalities, Smoke and Mokap would still be screwed over as they have no weapons to use. Also, not all weapons are Swords or Axes and thus wouldn't make sense for use in current Weapon-based Fatality Schemes.

Here are my three basic answers to that:

1) Allow characters to choose which Fatality scheme to use from the ones available to them.
2) New Fatality Schemes made available for characters with such weapons.

Required Reference Material: Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (PS2) Finishing Move List by SavagePastry

I. Choose Your Fatality Scheme

This is exactly what it says. Upon choosing your character, you now get to choose your Fatality Scheme. Schemes available to all characters are Standard and Sword Types 1/2/3. (Refer to the Reference Material for more info on those.) Depending on the character in question, the Axe or Short Sword Fatality Schemes are made available as well. An asterik * will signal a character that does not have access to the Fatality Scheme in question in the current Kreate-A-Fatality engine.

Short Sword Fatality Scheme Available To
- Kano
- Kira
- Mavado
- Mileena
- *Frost
- *Goro (Will be forced to use Standard Fatality Chains in place of Large Character Chains if using this Scheme)
- *Hsu Hao
- *Nitara
- *Sheeva
- *Tanya

Axe Fatality Scheme Made Available To
- Jarek
- *Ermac (Seriously, Ermac has a bigger Axe yet couldn't use them in his MK:A Fatalities? C'mon, Midway!)
- *Nightwolf
- *Meat

II. Blunt Trauma Fatality Scheme

This is a Fatality Scheme made to suit blunt trauma weapons (Ex: Nunchaku, Tonfas, Hammers). Characters using this Scheme cannot perform Knees Behind or Face Up Transitions and will use Standard chains if weapon-related chains are not available.

Movelist (Using PS2 controls; Easily mapped to Xbox and Wii equivalents)

Draw Weapon: Up, Down, Up, Square

Forward Chains
Face Smack: Forward, Forward, Square
Downwards Swing: Forward, Forward, Triangle
Head Thrust: Back, Back, Circle
Gut Thrust: Down, Down, Circle (Usable Twice)

Forward Finishers
Head Hammer Crush: Forward, Forward, Circle (X swings down his/her weapon on the victim's head, crushing it into a pulpy mess. The victim collapses to his/her knees and then collapses forwards.)

Knees Chains
Downwards Swing: Up, Up, Square (Usable Twice)
Head Thrust: Forward, Forward, Square

Knees Finishers
Breakneck Swing: Up, Down, Up, Circle (X swings his/her weapon from right-to-left with enough force to snap the victim's neck. He she then collapses onto his/her back away from the screen.)

Face Down Chains
Downwards Swing: Forward, Forward, Square (Usable Twice)

Face Down Finishers
Explosive Bludgeoning: Forward, Forward, Circle (X beats the victim with his/her weapon repeatedly until his/her upper torso explodes into gibs.)

Behind Chains
Brain Poke: Up, Up, Square
Low Blow: Up, Up, Triangle

Behind Finishers
Head Hammer Crush: Forward, Forward, Circle (Identical to Forward Finisher version.)

Scheme Usable By
- Bo Rai Cho (Jojutsu)
- Jax (Tonfa)
- Johnny Cage (Nunchaku)
- Kai (Spiked Club)
- Liu Kang (Nunchaku)
- Noob Saibot (Troll Hammer)
- Raiden (Staff)
- Reiko (Crude Hammer)
- Shao Khan (Wrath Hammer)
- Shinnok (Amulet Staff)
- Sonya Blade (Kali Sticks)
- Stryker (Nightsticks)

III. Dual Blades Fatality Scheme

A Fatality Scheme made to take advantage of dual-weld weapons. Characters using this scheme cannot perform the Face Down nor Face Up Transitions and will use Standard chains if weapon-related chains are not available at the moment.

Movelist (Using PS2 controls; Easily mapped to Xbox and Wii equivalents)

Draw Weapon: Up, Down, Up, Square

Forward Chains
- Left Arm Slash: Forward, Forward, Square
- Right Arm Slash: Up, Up, Square
- Left Leg Slash: Down, Down, Square
- Right Leg Slash: Down, Down, Triangle
- Sever Left Arm: Back, Back, Square
- Sever Right Arm: Back, Back, Triangle
- Neck Slash: Up, Up, Triangle
NOTE: The Slash chains do not sever the body part in question immediately. More on this in the Forward Finisher.

Forward Finishers
- Blade Lift: Forward, Forward, Circle (X impales the victim on his weapons. At that point, any body part in which a Slash chain was used will finally be severed from the body as the body itself sinks down the blades.)

Knees Chains
Throat Slash: Forward, Forward, Square
Head Stab: Up, Up, Square (Usable Twice)

Knees Finishers
Decapitation: Up, Down, Up, Circle (X swings both weapons inwards at the victim's neck, severing the head. The victim then collapses backwards still on his/her knees with blood spurting out through the neck.)

Behind Chains
Back Stab: Up, Up, Triangle (Usable Twice)
*Transition to Knees Behind: Down, Back, Square
NOTE: Only in this Scheme can the Knees Behind Transition be made from Behind. Other Schemes require for the victim to be on their back for this to be done.

Behind Finishers
Impale and Behead: Down, Down, Circle (X impales the victim through the back on his right weapon and through the head on his left weapon. He then rips his left weapon out, removing the victim's head from his/her shoulders and extracts his right weapon, allowing the headless victim to collapse forwards.)

Knees Behind Chains
Back Stab: Back, Back, Square (Usable Twice)

Knees Behind Finishers
Impaling Torso Exploder: Back, Back, Circle (X impales the victim from behind, lifts them up, and then rips both weapons outwards. The victim's entire upper body explodes into gibs while his/her lower half is thrown to the ground a short distance from that.)

Scheme Usable By
- Baraka (Blades) <- Note how this Fatality Scheme suits him.
- Darrius (Gauntlets)
- Daegon (Drakeswords)
- *Kintaro (Saber Teeth)
- Quan Chi (Broadswords)
- Sektor (Dual Pulse Blades)

*NOTE: Kintaro will be forced to use Standard chains in place of his usual Large Character Chains if he uses this Scheme instead.

IV. Yoink! Fatality Scheme

This is to remedy the issue of two specific non-boss characters that lack a Weapon Style. If this Scheme is selected, then the Fatality Scheme the character in question will use will be identical to that of the character they are about to pull a Fatality on. For Sword Type 1/2/3 characters, it will be as they were originally listed but for those who only can use their weapons in this engine and are not able to use Short Sword, Axe, Blunt Trauma, or Dual Blade Fatality Schemes, the default will be Sword Type 3. (Ex: Reptile)

This does not carry onto the next match and the Fatality Scheme your character will use will be that of the one he defeats then.

Scheme Usable By
- Smoke
- Mokap

Trivia: This Fatality Scheme is a reference to an inside joke about Smoke. It states that he was originally a rather un-original character and utilized moves from other characters frequently. Hence, this was turned into a running gag (lol, Kombat Pavilion for the win) where Smoke runs around stealing stuff shouting "Yoink!" as he does so. The Scheme bearing that name literally has Smoke or Mokap doing just that.

V. Miscellaneous Kreate-A-Fatality Enhancements

Of course there just have to be more to improve the Kreate-A-Fatality engine with, right? Here's a list of those that can't really be fit into the above categories.

New Finishers
- Leg Bludgeon (Face Down): Up, Down, Up, X (X goes around to the victim's right side, rips his right leg off, and proceeds to beat him/her non-stop. A tribute to Quan Chi's Leg Rip Fatality in MK4/Gold.)
- Dismemberment Pop (Face Up): Forward, Forward, Circle (X stomps on the victim's chest with such force that the head, legs, and arms (if they're still attached) pop off. A reference to the part of Sub-Zero's Frozen Leg Shatter Fatality in MK: Deception where he stomps on the victim's chest with enough force to pop his/her head off like a cork.)
- Broken Spine Impale (Knees Behind): Down, Down, Circle (X breaks the victim's neck, rips out his/her spinal cord, and impales them through the back with it.)

Visual Effect Improvements
- Performing a chain move that severs limbs on a Shokan will sever both arms on the same side. Also, they are the only characters in which an Arm Rip-based move can be performed twice.
- Finishing someone with a move that has them collapse forwards while they are impaled will have the weapon hilt prop them up in the same way Tanya's Kobu Jutsu does in her Kobu Jutsu Kill Fatality in MK: Deception.
- Performing a Torso Rip on a victim impaled through the chest will no longer dislodge the impaled weapon, but if the victim is impaled through the gut, then it will.
- Any body part rip moves will now leave holes in where that part was ripped from.

That should be it for this Koncept of mine. It's too bad this is not what MK:A's Kreate-A-Fatality Mode is unless Boon and crew are willing to take notes on this idea.
