Day 21: I was almost captured. The previuos day, the "Gritts" (what we call the enemy) were staging a counter attack and I somehow ended up on the front lines in a ditch. I woke up, looked up, and noticed people jumping over the ditch without even glancing at me. I heard gunfire and explosions everywhere, especially in the area I was in. I then realized that the shells that were raining down were those of my own army. I guess we underestimated the Gritts and their ability to fight. Just then, a woman jumped over the ditch and I heared her stop. Dirt continued to rain down from explosions, so I could not see very well.
She peered down, and yelled "Are you alright, sir?".
I did not hear what she said at first, because I panicked. I felt a great pain, that is when I saw my left arm. It was covered in blood and felt numb.
She repeated,"Are you alright?".
Unfortunately, everything got blurry, and I passed out from loss of blood.
The last thing I heared was: "Knock out those artillery!...(i couldn't hear that) ..Kill...(an explosion rang in my ears)..eader! Shoot down those damn Clusters!!"
...Clusters...that's probably what they call us...
At the moment, I have just awoken in a tree with a pair of binoculars in my dirt-coated hands. All I can hear are the bombings occuring a large distance away. I can see the flashing of them on the horizon, as if there was a thunder storm without clouds. The tree, however, is very quiet, the crickets are chirping as if nothing has happened, and the moon eerily hangs high in the sky amoungst all the stars who have not changed position at all. For a moment I actually forgot why this war was occuring, but then, I heared grass and leaves rustling down below, and a gun c**k...
