So around 10:30 PST Ted Kennedy died. It was kind of looming, he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, but still so shocking and also amidst a giant health care debate, something he had worked so hard for.
He had his share a personal issues, but that was obvious as well, after all he was a Kennedy. But as you read about all the tragedy in his life, you really have to say to yourself, my life wasn't as drenched in that and I can be thankful. Kennedy was also an advocate for the Civil Rights movement in the 60s, remarkable because he was one of the few that agreed it needed to happen. He also pioneered a new voting law, allowing the change of the law that said people 21 and older could vote, he changed the age to 18. So thank you Ted for that.
And so after all of the horror he saw, his brothers deaths and the car crash in the river and other things, he can finally rest and hang out with his family.
But thank you Ted, and hopefully, HOPEFULLY we can get Health care passed.
