So, I went to Connecticon this year! First time ever going to a con. I had a great time there. Even though I was with my mom but whatever.
We showed up there around 10 min. before it started D: My mom takes too long to get ready. But the line wasnt too too long so we waited for about an hour before having to come inside due to the rain coming down.
So first thing, we went to the Artists alley to look around. But it wasnt completely set up so Ill talk about that later~ Then we went to the opening ceremonie. After that..Artists alley again.
There were many talented artists there! But only a few caught my eye that got me to buy something from them.
Next was the Dealer's room. Id say that was 100x better than being in Artist's Alley. There were lolita clothes! ;__; I almost thought they were cosplay ones at first but I looked at it up close and saw a BABY skirt. Gawd so cute but..not affordable. I didnt has enough money. But they also had a crap load of posters, prints, action figures, plushies, weapons, cosplay clothes, cosplay props, stickers, mouse pads, wall scrolls, bags, shirts, Ill shut up now.
After that was the Anime Unscripted. It was somewhat entertaining. I loved the slideshow though. haha Even though some of the images disturbed me D: Then one in particular was the one of a fat dude in red shoes and..a leopard print thong ;___; And the dude was turned slightely turned to the side. Ew. So I saw..Okay I think you get the point.
Lastly, the lolita fashion show. ah Gawd :'D The clothes were very much indeed cute and pretty! However, most of the models werent. No offense. A few were good..but Asians get away with almost anything D: Ya luckies.
Anyways, what I got was Hello Kitty biscuits, a "Glomp Me" T-shirt with an adorable kitty on it, an L phone charm, a SasuNaru button, a Chariots CD (god I spend so long in that booth lol), an Alice Nine small print, a Rilakkuma Plushie in a cow suit, and a Cloud Key chain. So yeah, not much but I wouldnt really have enough for much more anyway. I started off with little more than $70 (couldve had $100+ but my sister took $30 from me -__- ) and now..I has four dollars D: Dammit. But my momll pay me back. Hopefully. Cause I might need to pay back Mr.Baka for that CD he's supposed to get for me.
Oh and as for cosplays, some were good and some were bad. Some didnt even wear wigs and some didnt bother to wear wig caps which really bothered me. And lots of the people were fat, sorry That was mean D: But true. BUT OMFG. There was a Jesus cosplay! He was awesome. And sad that I only saw one Reita cosplay. Oh well. And I wouldve gone in cosplay but it was sudded so I didnt have the money for it. Next year? Also, did have a sign on my back that said "You lost the game" but it fell off my back at my house without my knowing. Crap I lost the game.
All in all, it was good for a first time :3
