On tuesday July 21 my sister had her baby at Abilene Regional Hospital at 8:00 in the morning. The baby is a girl and my sister named her Tresley. I am an uncle for 9th time. My sister brought Tresley home yesterday and her big sister Teagan just couldn't leave her alone. She keeps wanting to change Tresley's diaper, feed her, hold her, play with her. And since yesterday Teagan has been getting into all kinds of trouble(more than usual) because she wouldn't leave Tresley alone. Also on tuesday I went on a church-sponsored trip to Schlitterbahn in New Braunsfels. And I have to say it's a lot more fun than the one at South Padre Island. It has a lot more stuff there. It even has a ride that ends in the river right next to it. I went on the Double Loop, Raging River(the longest ride there, and it ends in the river), Cliffhanger, and Hillside. It was a blast! At the end of the day we went to stay at the Howard Johnson for the night. The next day we packed up and left for home.
And another piece of good news this week. My grandpa is out of the hospital. He had a heart attack last week and he had to be taken to the emergency room. The doctors managed to unblock his artery and now he has a plug in his artery. While he was in the hospital he was giving the nurse a hard time and he was raising all kinds of hell. He was raising hell because he couldn't lift his head or legs because if he did the plug in his artery could pop out and he could bleed to death in about 10 minutes, and because he couldn't have his chewing tobbacco. The doctor who performed the surgery said that he needs to start taking his pills and start coming to his appointments or he's gonna die, plain and simple. The doctor also said that Grandpa has to put his hand down over the plug in his artery when he coughs, sneezes, goes to the bathroom or anything else like that or that plug might pop out. Of course, the biggest problem is making sure Grandpa does what the doctor tells him. But the stubborn old fart that he is, he's probably not going to.
