Love Story
As I sat on the schools roof waiting for my boy friend to come, I got lost in thought. What happens if he doesn't come? Or worse, what happens if he's going to break up with me? Is that why he told me to come here? It's only been a year, maybe he found someone else that's more interesting than I. Oh, my god, I think that's it.
Someone started to come up the stairs, their footsteps echoing off the wall. My heart started to race and I felt light headed. Oh, my god... he's coming!! I should run, but where to? Maybe I should hide, but there's no point....
I must have been in deep thinking to not realize the person was standing right next to me. He laid a hand on my shoulder and I jumped to a standing position.
"Rose? Are you alright? " He asked, a worried expression appeared on his face. I nodded and the worry disappeared. He looks at me, "How long were you here?"
I looked at my watch, "Um... I dunno, 20 minutes? Maybe more.... wait, Why did you want to meet here Erik? " i asked him. We both hated Hopemeadow, our school. Thank god we're 12th graders, 'cause this is our last year.
Erik shrugs. "I dunno, I guess I Just like the view." We both turn a bit to look at the setting sun. "This is the best spot in town to watch the sun set. "
I smiled "I guess. Why don't we sit now... I have been working all day on my feet." We sat down, letting our feet hang over the side. "So Erik, why did you call me at work?" Though I was happy to get away from the sweeping at Fun-Mart, Where your food and items are always fresh and new. New my a**, I thought.
"Well... I didn't want this to wait. After Graduation, I don't really think we'd see each other. And..." He said, pausing.
I put my hand around his. "Go on...."
He took a breath, "Well... I was wondering, How would you like to...."
"GET DOWN FROM THE ROOF YOU KIDS OR I'LL CALL THE POLICE!!!!" Someone below said rudely interrupted us.
