Backstory - Resistance Against Evil: Reluctant Soldier
Panzer Len Kagamine can be seen storming out of a room, leaving behind his twin sister Panzer Rin along with other soldiers and officers who had vowed to continue their resistance to the Accursed Fuhrer after the failed July 20th attempt. As she sat there, she frowned and began to reflect on what made the brother she loved and still loves so blinded by fanaticism. She recalls all the smashed radios Panzer Len had left behind after becoming so disgusted with what the Accursed Fuhrer was spewing out with his propaganda along with the one day she couldn't help but look in his diary, where he detailed his disgust and rage at how the Fuhrer treated those groups that were being placed in the camps and eventually put to death in the gas chambers. The Panzer Loli was eventually caught by her brother but curiously he was pleased by what he saw--enough for him to invite her to join the Resistance.
Back in the present time, Panzer Rin looked outside the window and saw soldier upon soldier and officer upon officer of the Resistance getting slaughtered by members of the SS. Looking away, she closes her eyes and recalls an earlier incident where a high-ranking SS officer managed to escape all because she didn't want to mortally wound him, her last rounds of MG42 ammo missing completely and leading her brother to distrust her role in the Resistance. She then hears the berating Panzer Len had given her before storming out and begins to sob believing that she is indeed a coward. When the battlefield outside suddenly goes quiet, Panzer Rin can't help but fear for her twin brother's life. When she looked outside and found that Panzer Len was the only member of the Resistance who went to fight and was still alive, she recalled what she read in her brother's diary and his heartfelt invitation to join him in the Resistance. Realizing how much the Panzer Shota had looked out for her, Panzer Rin realized it was time to help him out for a change.
Leading the last group of Resistance soldiers out from the right side of the building to where her brother was, she and those soldiers fired their Panzerfausts and other weapons at the SS Tank, thinking that it was destroyed only for said Tank's mounted Machine Gun to mow down the Resistance soldiers that accompanied her--Panzer Rin was beheaded by the sweeping lead shower. This part of her story ends when Sherman Len and Rin arrive to take out the tank for good, with Sherman Rin in shock and disbelief upon stumbling across her Panzer counterpart's corpse, head severed from body. Sherman Rin cried over the Panzer Loli's head.
Aftermath
Like her brother Panzer Len, Panzer Rin also found herself in limbo when she realized her head was once again attached to her body just as Panzer Len realized the right side of his torso and right arm were back. She meets the Daughter of Evil and notices the stitches on her neck. The Daughter of Evil Rin explains to her that she was eventually found and beheaded after her brother, the Servant of Evil, tricked the angry mob by being beheaded in her place. She also explains to the Panzer Loli that Panzer Len is in alot of mental anguish and believes that she (Panzer Rin) hates him for his blind zeal leading them to their fates. Panzer Rin says that such a thing is not true, but then the Daughter tells her that Panzer Len is too distraught to realize that.
Panzer Rin watches the Daughter walk over into the darkness and re-emerge embracing the distraught Panzer Len from behind. Giving Panzer Rin a cue to walk up behind the Servant, the Panzer Loli sees how much pain her twin brother is in and finds it difficult to keep quiet as to mask her presence. Despite that, she is so happy to see her brother again that when the Servant steps aside to reveal her presence, Panzer Rin immediately embraces Panzer Len and they find themselves alive in the present day amongst the other Vocaloids, including their once-rivals Sherman Len and Rin. This story ends with Panzer Rin, along with Sherman Rin and Len, along with the other Vocaloids, assuring Panzer Len that they'll always be there to help him if he "is forced to fight the Accursed Fuhrer" ever again.
Notes
- Panzer Rin was molded more along the lines of the "supportive little sister archetype" with Panzer Len being the more dominant one, whereas Rin is more dominant over the more innocent Len. This stemmed from Panzer Rin usually being the one to support Panzer Len when I'm playing as him in UT2004 (both of these models made by xenoaisam of course--you should check his work out) and eventually the relationship transferred to their actual Vocaloid character concepts.
- The presence of the Daughter and Servant of Evil during the Aftermath portion of Panzer Rin and Len's stories, along with that of Sherman Len and Rin along with the Kagamine twins we're all familiar with suggests that there is more than one Rin and Len Kagamine in existence.
- The reference of Panzer Rin's failed attempt to disable a SS officer in a previous battle pokes fun of two things: The final battle in Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz where the Gundam Boys plus Zechs and Noin tried to disable the Serpent Mobile Suits without killing the pilots and Kira Yamato's doing the same thing throughout most of Gundam SEED and all of SEED Destiny. It's a curious ideal to have that in a perfect world, would garner you some respect from your enemies, but in reality it wouldn't work.
