The sun set over the horison leaving streaks of yellows reds oranges and pinks. the ocean was set aflame by the sunset. the palm trees had an eerie shadow as they loomed over the beach. I sat there, pulled in by the mood of the sunset.
i stood up and shook off the sand.
i turned toward the parking lot, and started walking to my car. i heard the truck unlock, and i hopped in. i could've sworn i heard laughter in my car. i searched the back seat.
nothing was there.
suddenly, a scream echoed through the car scream and i tried to shut it out.
but it seemed it wasn't inside the car...
it seemed it was in my head.
i felt a liquid coming from my ear.
i pulled my hand away and saw blood.
i seemed paralyzed question by it. i didn't move, and counted each breath i took. i listened to other sounds, but there wasn't any besides my shallow breaths.
i heared someone whisper my name.
i turned around-- and screamed.
