Sabastion walked down the hall,ignoring his name being called by one of the teachers.He didnt have time to talk about how his grades were plumetting and how the teacher knew he was a better student then that,he knew it too of course,but-He just didnt care anymore.Things had been going so smoothly untill his mother died,now his brother dont talk to him and the rest of his family was slowly being eaten away by the constant bickering and hurt that was going on.
"Bastion!"Another student called out.
He turned arround,his only true friend ran towards him in the effort of catching up and walking beside him.They walked in silence for most of the journey down the side street,it was just an old gravel and dirt road,only a small neighborhood of houses,three or four at the most,were back there.His and one more,an old abandon one,was by the lake. Everyone said the lake was haunted by a witch's ghost who had drowned there.He didnt belive in the story,but he never swam there,only wondered down there in occations. His hands were shoved in his crimson hoody,playing with the knife he always carried with him and a cigrete dangled from his lips.He sighed as the wind picked up again,a typical autumn afternoon.His dark,messy hair and bored,dark eyes went well with how he felt at the moment.It had been two years since his mother had died,but he still remembered it like it had just happened.
His friend decided to work up the courage to talk about school."What did you get on your test?"
Sabastion stared out from under the locks of hair in his eyes and shook his head."Not now Kev."
Kevin shrugged and thought of a new subject."How about the track team? They've gotten pretty good over the years havent they?"
He shrugged."I dont care to watch them."
Kevin was ready to give up when he saw that there was a truck in the drive of the old abandon house down the street and there were people moving things into the house.It looked like a woman and some movers,but the woman,on a closer look was a girl about thier age,maybe 17 at the most.After about an hour the adults started to clean up,the girl taking in the last of the boxes.She really didnt move much stuff into the house,it looked like only two people lived there including her,She looked over and caught Sabastion's eyes.Her own were a brilient green with grey arround the outer edges of them.He couldnt stop staring back as her eyes gave him a silent hello.When everyone left they noticed it was just two people there,but one wasnt so much a person as an animal.A rottweiler was sitting outside by the fence post.The old house was run down and needed to be fixed badly and she didnt waist time getting started on it.She sat down after about an hour's work and leaned on a tree,taking a drink of water and pouring some into her hand for the dog.She looked over again,but now it was only Sabastion.Kevin had gone home a half an hour ago.Sabastion still stared back,she seemed so sad,but it didnt show anywhere but her eyes.He wondered what her story was.She seemed to know what he was thinking when she motioned for him to come over if he liked.He got up slowly and shuffled his way over to her,sitting down beside her.
Once more silence consumed the waiting air as they sat together,leaning on the tree.She untied a bandana from her hair and he noticed it was short and choppy,blue in color.He looked at it and raised a brow with a small smirk,the closest thing to a smile anyone got out of him now-a-days.She looked at him from the cornor of her eyes and sighed.
"What?"He asked.
"Go ahead and make fun of me."She muttered and looked at him,her eyes were daring him to,they seemed to speak what was on her mind when she didnt.
He shrugged and shook his head."I wasnt gonna say anything."
She studied him for the minute and then decided to speak."You can go back home whenever you like...or you could help me out with this place and i can pay you."
He needed the money and shrugged."Sure-whatever.I'm not missed at home."
She looked over at him,knowing the feeling and getting up,offering him a hand for help,but he just got up and shrugged it away.She frowned when he did and shook her head as they started to fix the fence.The dog growled every time he came near her,but she always told it to hush and that she was safe.It would stop growling untill he moved closer to her.They kept working untill they were both tired and she caught him looking up the road to where the lights of his house were shining.It was dusk now and she knew he must be tired.She gave him a meek smile and told him to go on home after she handed him a wad of money for his help.It was the most he had ever held in his life and figured she was made of the stuff since she could just hand it to him like that.Truth was that was nearly all the money she had at all.She knew he and his family,mostly him,needed it. She watched him walk home untill she yawned and turned arround,he stole a glance back at her and saw her turning on her room light,shutting the curtains as she undressed herself.The figure of a dog laying in the window.
The next morning was the weekend and the begining of Halloween break.She loved Halloween,it was her birthday.He walked over,j-pop was playing in the window of the livingroom and she was standing on a small stepstool,hanging up skelletons and bats,singing along with the CD.She had a beautiful voice and he cleared his throat behind her.She spun arround,and fell off the stool.He ran over and caught her.She was expecting to hit the ground so she had closed her eyes.When she didnt and felt strong arms around her instead she looked up.He was close to her and she blushed.He looked away and she moved from him.It was an awkward silence as she went over to change the song and look at diffrent CD's.He cleared his throat and noticed she was wearing an orange skirt with a black pair of leggings with pumpkins under it and a gooey kind of green shirt.She was finishing her song change and looked back at him with a small and still embarased smile.
"Hey,what brings you here? Dont you have school?"She asked him as she buisied herself again.
He shook his head and shrugged."Fall break.I have two weeks off."
She whistled."Wow.I like this school already."
He nodded and wondered why she didnt sign up for it yet.He hadnt heard anything about a new student and he thought it was strange.He pushed it out of his head though and looked arround.The yard and house looked pretty good,she had to of been working on it all morning.She laughed when she saw him shiver as he looked at the real bats in the cages.He looked at her with the same bored and not happy look.She wondered why he looked like that all the time.
"Why are you so sad all the time?"She asked him and looked at him,waiting for an answer.
He seemed to be struck dumb,as though he couldnt tell if she had really just asked him that.He didnt answer for a while and when he finaly did it was like his voice was that of a child instead of a puberty ridden teen-aged boy."My mother died two years ago."
He rushed through the words like they were a bad medicine,and to him they were.She nodded and smiled at him,a smile that said she understood,that she felt his pain.He found himself thinking that she didnt know anything as she asked something else."What kind of year?"
"Huh?"
She looked at him as she walked over to him."What kind of year?Birthday,new year,school year...?"
He grew angry at her use of the years and he felt like she was playing a game with him.He clentched his fists and stared her in the eyes,his voice deadly."You shut up now.Dont play games with me! I love her very much and I wont just stand here and let you make fun of her!"
She looked shocked and hurt and she took a step back,defenetly afraid of him.She gapped at him as he turned to leave and she found her voice."My parents died......Nine school years,and eight birthday years ago.......I loved-love-them too."
She turned to go into the house and stopped at the doorway,her own tears rolling down her face as his was and she sniffled."I wasnt making fun...I just know how it feels... I'm sorry I hurt you....."
She went inside and he turned to say somthing to her,but the door shut on his words and he hung his head,walking into the woods to go to the lake.She knew his pain,she knew more then his pain.She knew twice as much as his pain and he had done that to her,but she was just being stupid.He knew that wasnt true,she loved her parents so much she had been counting every year she could since they were gone.His had been two school years.She had died in Chistmas and it was soon to be a third year he supposed and shook his head,but the thoughts of his words stung him as he realized how crude he had been to her.She could be the only one who could understand him and he hurt her.He had been hurting alot of things and people recently and he thought it was just normal,but he really knew it wasnt normal to like to make others feel the pain he felt.He sat down by the water and watched it.
She went to her room and lay on her bed.She hadnt ment to blurt out the questions but they just showed up.She knew he was sad about his parents and she was too.Her tears choked her and made her eyes burn as she sobbed into her pillow.She was gripping it tightly,as though she were hugging her parents,like they were with her.She could hear thier voices ringing in her head as they told her not to worry and that he didnt mean it.That he was just trying to cope with his loss.She nodded in agreement and lay there,hurt and more alone then she had felt for some time.She cried herself to sleep.
She woke with a jolt as her door was opened.She stood up and pulled her hair out of her eyes as someone called out her name.She went to the living room and saw her uncle.He smiled to her and she hung her head.He seemed to know everything instantly.
"What happened?"He asked as he hugged her.
She told him everything as he sat there with her.She told her story as the sun sank lower in the sky,twilight.Her uncle comforted her and handed her some money for food and the last of the repairs.She refused but he made her take it.When he bid her good-bye she went to the door with him and watched him walk down the driveway.She was suprised to see Sabation walking up to her house,his hands shoved in his pockets and his head down.She wanted to shut the door and just keep him away so she wouldnt be stupid again,but she knew her parents wouldnt take that kindly,so she waited for him to get there and she put her arms arround herself in a hug.He was kicking the dirt as she waited for him to speak.
"I'm sorry."They appoligized in unison.
She nodded and he looked at her."It was my fault.I shouldnt have asked about the years.I just....I didnt think it would hurt still,but it does.....dont it? I mean,it does to me still..."
He nodded in answer."Yeah.It still hurts,really bad."
She moved from the doorway and she motioned for him to come in,her uncle smiled as he beeped to let her know good job.She waved to him and sighed as he looked arround. Her house was so diffrent,it was made for a teenager.With beenie bags as chairs and small tables made of old skateboards and surfboards.He felt so comfortable in her home and even arround her it was strange to him.He hadnt felt safe in years and he did now.He sat down as she went to get some tea.
He spoke to her as she bussled arround the kitchen,grabbing the good dishes out of thier box."It is ok,I could just drink a pop or something..."
She came back with the dishes and tea and shook her head."Mother would kill me if she knew I didnt act properly to a guest..."
He stared at her with curiosity."You said-"
"I'm sorry.....I just,I still hear thier voices like they are here and it...it helps me a bit to know I am doing what they wanted to me to do."She muttered and handed him his cup.
He nodded and took it."I know what you mean.I still hear my mother telling me how to clean up and stuff..."
She couldnt help but to smile slightly and nod."Yeah...like that."
He looked at her and set down his cup,she looked at him as well and blushed before looking down at her cup again.He smiled.He really smiled and it felt so strange,but good at the same time.She saw his smile and she tilted her head to the side."Feels good right?"
He nodded and took a drink before speaking."I havent smiled in a long time...."
She shrugged."You'll learn how to remember to do things like they were normal even though they never will be."
He felt like she knew everything and hung onto her words for hope and life.They talked for hours,the lights were being turned on in other houses but they sat there with paper lanterns of orange and green and black glowing above them.It was cold in her house though because she didnt have a heater and they each had a blanket while they lay on the beenie bag chairs,laughing and talking about thier families before it all happened.He yawned and she smiled at him,telling him to go ahead home and get some rest. That he would need it.He agreed and asked if he could come over again the next day.She said he could and he left,headed back to his own house.
When he entered the door he went to his room,though he shared it with his brother he was usually the only one inside it and he lay on his bed,sighing as he thought of her.She was so diffrent then everyone else.When tragedy hit her she took it and made it into something she could live by and learn from,make herself better from it.He could tell that about her and he knew she was the one he could talk to.Even Kevin had grown distant from him and he wondered if Kevin only felt sorry for him,but he knew that wasnt true,Kevin had been his friend long before his mother died and was still that friend he knew from so long ago.He closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Aroura was sitting in her room,the window open,letting in the cool night air and she smiled,closing her eyes.

The morning air was cold and damp and she felt hands shaking her awake.Her uncle stood there again with Sabation by his side.She smiled and streatched.Her uncle said he would make breakfast and she shook her head,but once more lost the arguement.Sabastion remembered how his own mother used to make him eat breakfast and a wave of sadness came over him,but when she smiled it seemed to ebb out of his heart.She blushed as he raised a brow at her choice in night clothes and she covered up a bit.He felt something he hadnt before,a hunger he didnt recognize untill he caught her scent,the scent of jasmine,huneysuckle and lilacs.He leaned towards her and moved hair from her eyes,he loved her eyes.They were always so caring and so wild,so understanding and free.The green made the grey stand out and it was just bright enugh too make the blue tint to the whites of her eyes show up.She was amazing to him,but he drew back as she looked down again.Her face a crimson color.He stood up and looked at the door.
"I'll be outside if you need me...I was thinking we should go to town...get something to heat your house with.Maybe get you some water too...just untill you can afford to get your's turned on."
She nodded and he left.She closed the door but it didnt shut all the way and he looked inside.She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen and it was torture not to be able to touch her.Her uncle came over and nudged his arm and he tried to stumble through words for an excuse."i'm...sorry I mean I..I didnt mean to...to..uhm...to look...."
Her uncle laughed."Hey,it's alright,I wont tell her.She is a beautiful girl-inside and out.I hope she wont get hurt again any time soon though..."
Sabastion knew what he ment and nodded."She wont..."
"Aroura is my only niece and I dont want to loose her like I did my sister.No man should ever do such a thing..."Her uncle muttered and Sabastion went to ask what untill he managed to look over and saw her in the mirror-a long scar snaked from her rib to her bellybutton and she covered it with her shirt.
Abuse,she and her mother had been abused by her father? Her father seemed so nice by the way she talked about him and he shook his head."No....no one should have to go that way..."
Her uncle looked over at him and smiled."Your a good boy..."
He shrugged and wondered if he really was,he was just looking in on a girl while she dressed.He figured that was normal though and said good-bye as her uncle left.She came out of the room in a pretty orenge and black outfit.He raised a brow once more in her style of clothing and she giggled.He felt his mind latch on to that giggle and his heart thumped faster.She saw a pink to his cheeks and she looked down."I uhm..... we should go eat...."
He nodded silently and let her lead the way.They sat in silence as they ate and stole fleeting glances at each other.After breakfast she grabbed her jacket and they headed into town,to grab what her house was missing.They got to the hardware store and she looked down one of the isles and went down it.She looked at the small heaters and found one she liked.She grabbed it and then looked over to find him.He wasnt there.She rubbed the back of her head and then went down another isle.She grabbed some bottled water and shivered as she went across a cold spot.Sabastion caught up to her and rubbed her arms after putting some of the stuff into the buggy. She smiled and when they finished shopping he took her hand and led her to a small cafe.She took a seat and he sat across from her,a waiter took thier orders and they talked while they ate.
"So,what was your life like before your family died?"He asked hesitantly.
"I was part of a traveling circus."She answered with a smile.
He raised a brow and moved his hands so the waiter could put the food down.The waiter heard her and smiled."What circus miss?"
She looked at him and smiled."Maribella's Wonders of the Ages."
His eyes lit up and he grinned."That was the best show I've ever seen! You were in it!?"
She nodded and smiled."I was the Princess's lady in waiting."
He seemed more excited then her."My favoret part! You were wonderful!"
She turned red and looked down."Thank you..."
Sabastion saw her blush and became slightly jelous that this stranger could make her do so.She looked at him and could see the green monster and then blushed even more even though the waiter had left.She looked out from under her hair at Sabstion and she stuck out her tounge playfully.He smiled and she giggled.He loved her giggle and felt himself latch onto it for his heart's sake.
Afer lunch they went to another store and she looked arround.It was old place,much like a hobby shop for collectors of dust and old items.She was looking at the jewlery and saw a medalion.She stared at it and saw it glow.The man behind the counter saw this as she went to touch it and gawked at her.She touched it and the glow grew to a light.She seemed unfazed by this and where ever the light touched on her a new her was revieled,the her that no one knew.The her that was.....a Goddess.
Sabastion came out and she put the medalion down and backed up,it stop its enchantments and she went to look at something else.As they finished her shoping they had three small bags of items they had bought together and for eachother.She was wearing a new batch of bangle braclets and he had a new jacket.He didnt mind parting with the hoody because it belonged to his brother anyway and she had bought the jacket for him in concern and because the way it looked on him.They walked the dirt road back to his and her houses and heard a beeping noice.They turned arround in time to see some kids stopping a truck and getting out.He put his head down and told her to walk faster.The kids caught up to them and one of the boys,a strong muscular boy,grabbed his coat and turned him arround.
"Well look guys.It's *censored*."He sneered and Sabastion rolled his eyes.
Aroura watched as one of the boys went behind her and grabbed her arms.She yelped and winced in pain."Ow! let go!"
He laughed and Sabastion felt his anger raising as he saw the boy laughing, holding her by her arms and hair, her head back so she had to look down to see what was in front of her.He clentched his fists and his teeth as the boy kept speaking.
"You know what I was thinking today? I was thinking I was gonna pay *censored* a visit because of what he did to my sister..... So I said to myself.Tyler,why dont you go get him back for what he did?"Tyler sneered and looked over at Aroura.
Sabastion saw the look Tyler had and then glanced over at Aroura to catch her eye and give her a silent it's gonna be alright look.Tyler went over to her and looked into her eyes as she glared at him,the boy letting her hair go.Tyler ran his finger from her hair to her lips.She went to bite him and he pulled back with a grin."Well well....she's a bit fiesty isnt she?"
Aroura growled."Yeah,come here and let me show you how good I can fight...."
He told them to let her go and she moved her sore arms.He becond to her to make her move and Sabastion shook his head."Dont Aroura..."
She stood there without moving a step forward.Tyler shrugged and made his move at her,she went to dodge but she was pushed back into his way and he weasled her to the ground,pinning down her hands and legs.She wiggled under him and his friend laughed as she felt his lips touch her cheek.He grabbed her hair,her hands above her head and looked her in the eyes.
"What happened to fighting?"He asked with a smile."I would have loved to have wreasled with you."
She struggled more,Sabastion went to get Tyler off of her but he was grabbed by two of his friends.He watched as she spit in Tyler's face and his budies cracked up laughing when she got slapped.She whimpered as her memories of her father and the pain came back.Tyler started to lift her shirt and she closed her eyes tight and struggled harder,near to toppling him off her.He held her tighter and it hurt her.She whined and he kissed her,handling her roughly.Moving his hand from her hair he went down to her skirt and moved it up her leg,stopping at her panties and moving them aside.He touched her and she started to cry,Sabastion was yelling and doing everything he could to get loose,headbutting one of the guys in the nose,but only getting thrown and to the ground and thrashed in his attempt.She felt him forcing her legs open and she screamed,someone nearby hearing her.She felt another slap as she was told to shut up and she did as she was told.As he was about to unbuckle his pants a motorbike was heard from the trees and then it jumped from them and over the ditch.The boys scrambled and Sabastion got up and ran to her.He held her tightly as the person got off the bike and went over to them.Sabastion was almost crying as he rocked her in his arms,trying to calm her tears.He hadnt ment for her to get hurt.The person nelt down and took off her helmet and put her hand on his shoulder.
"Are you guys ok?"She asked."My name is Lana."
Sabastion nodded,unable to speak and Lana touched Aroura's shoulder-Aroura drew back from her and she sighed."Come on,we need to get you guys to your house.Is this your sister?"
Sabastion shook his head and spoke,his voice broken,Aroura heard it and knew his guilt."No,she is my friend....those boys were....trying to hurt her....because of me...."
Lana nodded and touched his shoulder."It wasnt your fault though Son..."
He felt it was,knew it was.He had drug her into the middle of his school war.Aroura heard the girl say this and knew she was right,he had tried to help her,but he couldnt get to her.She looked up at him and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you Sabastion.Thank you for trying to save me!"She burried her face in his chest again and he felt tears spring to his eyes and he tried to blink them back - but they washed everything away as his shoulders shook.
Lana took them to Aroura's house and left them there in thier silence and distress as the police took down names and statements,hoping to clean up the mess before school started back up.Aroura had fallen asleep by the time the police left and he picked her up,taking her to her room and laying her down, starting one of the heaters and then standing to leave.She grabbed his hand and he looked back at her.
Her eyes were terrified and hurt,it tore him up inside to see her with that look as she spoke."Dont leave me alone please.......I dont want to be alone...."
He nodded and she moved over to the wall for him to lay down too,but he only sat on the bed's edge as she curled into a ball and huddled ageinst him for saftey, saftey he knew he couldnt give her.She didnt care,she wanted him there,knowing if she needed him he would be right beside her.He fell asleep a bit later,her head on his lap and his arm arround her shoulders as she slept.
*~~~~~~~~~~Chapter *Two~~~~~~~~~~*
She woke the next morning and looked over to see him beside her.She remember last night as her dreams took thier place in her mind and she blushed.He was laying down now instead of sitting up like he had been,his arms arround her and looking so peaceful.She moved slightly and he woke up,being the light sleeper he was.She was close to his face and she turned red when he looked over at her.He was frowning but caught her blush and smiled.A knock on her window made her jump and she looked out it to see one of her friends there.She was waving for Aroura to let her in and open the window.Aroura did just that.
"Adam,what are you doing here?"She asked,rubbing her eyes.
"Apparently catching you,you slut."She laughed and looked at Sabastion.
Aroura went to say something,but Sabastion just grinned and shrugged."Jelous?"
Adam laughed and pushed his arm playfully."Maybe I am!"
Aroura turned scarlet and looked down as usual.Adam sat on her lap and put her arms arround her neak,kissing her."I missed you Love,why havent you called?"
Sabastion raised his brow and Aroura smiled at Adam."Well,that would be because I have no phone.And how many times do I have to tell you not to call me that?"
"A million."She answered and laughed,getting up and looked Aroura over."So?"
".....Uhm....so what?"She mumbled with a nervous look.
"So who is the boy you were so helplessly cuddled up to?"She giggled and Aroura palmed her forhead.
"I was not helplessly cuddled ageinst any boy.This is Sabastion.I met him here a while back,about three or four days I think...."She answered with an appolgetic smile to Sabastion.
He spoke now."Yeah,I was the one helplessly holding onto her."
Adam laughed again and nodded."I like him."
They sat and talked for another few hours before the girls went into the bathroom,Aroura was getting undressed to get in the shower and Adam was sitting on the counter.The silence was thick between them and Sabastion listened for something that could be of interest to him.He found what he was looking for.
It sounded like Adam speaking first."So...have you tried to contact your boy toy?"
Aroura answered quickly."He isnt my boy toy."
"He wants to be.He gave me a letter to give to you and....I read it....."Adam pulled a letter from her pocket,the seel broke."He loves you Aroura."
There was the ripping of paper and then Aroura's slightly annoied and angry voice."I dont love him! He only wants my father's money."
Adam sighed and left the bathroom,going to Aroura's room as the shower started and sitting on the bed,a thoughtful look about her.Sabastion didnt say anything and he looked over at him.He felt her prying eyes and cold glare.It sent ice into his bones and he shivered.They sat there,her observing him like a bug under a microscope and him in uncomfortable patients.She finally stopped when Aroura came into the room.Adam stood and left the room,going to the living room and giving Aroura a hopeless look. Sabastion was slightly nervous now and he looked over at Aroura in time to see her mouth a quite sorry.He shrugged like it wasnt a big deal and she smiled gratefully,but they knew that they would both feel better when Adam left.
Unfortunatly thier prayers werent answered untill almost that night,Adam was determined to see exactly what Sabastion was doing to and with Aroura.Aroura waved good-bye to her friend and Sabastion colapsed on the floor.She shut the door and fell next to him.
"I'm so sorry about that."She murmered.
"Hey,it's no problem..."He smiled at her and pulled her close to him.
She turned red and he smiled."Your so cute when you blush."
She giggled and he kissed her,suprising her and she pushed him away.He felt stupid and she watched him stand up.She looked up at him as he spoke.
"I'm sorry,that was uncalled for.I didnt meant to....to scare you or anything."
She went to speak but he was already walking out the door.She scrambled to her feet and touched his shoulder.He looked back at her and she had a small smile.He didnt know what she was doing to him,but he liked it as she took his arm,pulling him back inside and closing the door.She looked down and mumbled something.He raised a brow,not sure if he heard her right and he turned her face to his.
"Say that again..."He waited for her pause to subside with a trembling heart.
Her voice was small and docile,she was looking at him,her cheeks burning"Do....do you want to....to try that again...?"
He smiled and nodded."I would."
He bent low to her and pressed his lips to her's.She closed her eyes and returned it,his hand going from her chin to behind her head,his other arround her waist.She put her hands to his chest,her fingers curling over his collar bone.She was red and she felt her heart thumping,swearing he could tell she was scared.He could and he held her tighy,but gentaly.She felt his slight pressure and then went wide eyed as he let his tounge brush over her lips and to the roof her of mouth.He grinned at her expression and broke the kiss off.She looked down and put her fingers to her lips,that had been a mature kiss.She hadnt had one of them before, but she liked it.He moved hair from her eyes and put his lips to her ear.
"What's the matter? Not the kiss for you?"He had a slight air to his voice.
She blushed,her voice small."I liked it....."
He seemed slightly taken aback and grinned."Well,now arent we the odd one."
No girl had ben willing to let him to that,let alone like it.He hugged her and she put her arms under his,linking her fingers just below his shoulder blades.She wanted to stay there forever,but knew it wouldnt last long.She looked up at him and took a breath,daring to ask the question she wanted to know the answer to."If..... uhm..... could you ever
love a girl? I mean like.... like love her?"
He looked down and shrgged."I dont think I could..."
She looked down and let go of him,feeling hurt before he spoke again."But I think my heart would kick my butt if I left it at that when I'm arround you..."
She threw her arms arround his shoulders and kissed him again,hugging him tightly.He smiled and held her,not in a hug,but an embrace,something she hadnt felt before from a boy and she liked it.She never wanted it to end,but with many things that day another suprise came to her door.She answered it and a dog bounded in,a boy right after.She was knocked to the ground and she let out a yelp.The dog inspected the stranger with her as Sabastion backed up from it a bit.She stood up and looked at the doorway,a burley boy stood there,his thick hair and well trimmed clothes gave off an erragance as he strode into the house.She sighed and went to Sabastion,making the dog go outside.The boy took a look at her and laughed.
"Hey there Arury."He ruffled her hair."How's my little sis now-a-days?"
He looked at Sabastion and shook his hand."Dean,I'm her older brother."
She laughed as Sabstion nodded and answered."Sabastion,the boy who just kissed her."
Her brother laughed and looked at her,taking in the sight of her being for a minute."You've grown up alot Sis."
She nodded and shrugged."Well,time and school does that to a girl."
"The lack there of for the last one no?"He asked with a glint in his eyes."Mother and Father would not be proud of you."
She chentched her teeth and had a sarrowed look in her eyes as she spoke."I'm fine with learning on my own.Mother and Father always told me to do what i thought was best because soon i would need to in life on my own."
"There you go acting like they knew they were going to die again."He scoffed and she glared at him,her anger boiling up.
"I never said that Dean..."She muttered and felt her heart breaking again.
She knew they knew because she had been given a letter two hours before it containing thier will and a letter for her and her brother.She hadnt said anything and just kept the letters to herself untill it was the right time.Sabastion looked at Aroura and noticed her look and the fact that - it seemed to him - her brother was wrong.
"Dean,I'm just a guy,but your upsetting your sister,and if that is all you came for,then I'll have to ask you to leave."His voice was firm and promicing.
"Your right kid,you are just a boy. That is more true then you know and once she is finished with you you'll end up just like the rest.So I'd beat it and stay out of my buisness if I were you."Dean threatened.
Sabastion looked at Aroura and she looked down,he felt something he hadnt before.Hurt from the love of a girl.He held up his hands and left,walking back to his house.
She glared at Dean."Get out now Dean. I dont want you in my life,you never belived in me even when you saw it with your own eyes!"
He scoffed and walked to her,his hands on her shoulders,they tightened as he spoke."I'd watch my mouth if I were you.I'm stronger then you are little sis.And your friend dont like your new companion ither."
She swallowed hard as she spoke next."Get out Dean.Dont come back......."
He stayed there and then Sabastion heard her yelling."Get out Dean!Get out now!"
She felt a slap on her face,running from her cheek to her lip and Sabastion came in the door, pulling Dean away from her and punching him.Dean got up and walked out of the house,slamming the door.Sabastion went over to her and knelt down as she sunk ageinst the wall.He wanted to know what had happened and he held her again.She cried. She hadnt been having the best time in her new home,no one seemed to want to leave her past in its place.No matter how much she wanted it to be left there.The heaters kicked on as he asked her what he wanted to know.
"Do you love me?"
She nodded.
"What did your brother mean by what he said about me?"He asked nervously.
There was a long pause before she answered and she took a breath."I used to ......let guys get close to me and then ..................leave them,moving to another place .....just so they would feel my pain..."
He nodded,he had been doing something similar to that,only it was his family he had been pushing away.She sighed and then gave a small,but horrified laugh."So much for a new life.... it just dont seem it wants to let me have one."
He smiled and hugged her again."I can help you make one if you want me to."
She shook her head."I couldnt ask of such a thing from you."
He kissed her again and she became like putty in his arms.He leaned on her slightly and she relaxed.He broke the kiss and smiled."I want you ask."
She blushed and bit her lip as he ran his fingers through her hair.She looked down at the floor and he chuckled"You act like you havent been touched by a boy before."
She shrugged slightly and he noticed that he had said something truthful.She looked up and saw his mischovous eyes and she knew that look."Ooooh no! No no no no!"
He nodded and inched towards her as she backed up,hitting the hallway wall.He lunged at her playfully and she let out a small laugh.She ran down the hall and he landed on the wall.He grinned and ran after her,she dove into the bathroom and closed the door so he couldnt get in.He pushed on it,soon forcing her out of the way and then watching her scoot away form him with a wicked grin on her face.She backed up to the wall and giggled.He shut the door and inched to her.She felt her nerves jump as he knelt down to her and ran his fingers through her hair.She looked down and he took her face in his hands,kissing her.She felt him press on her slightly,but not sexually.Just to let her know he wouldnt hurt her.She was still scared as she returned his kiss,her hands at her side,his on her back.She moved hers as he sat down with her and the lights flickered.She broke the kiss and sighed.
"The powers going out again.I'll be back..."She smiled.
He grabbed her hand as she went to leave and pulled her down to him,holding her.She looked into his eyes and he smiled,kissing her."Let it go out,it's only us."
She felt a tugging in her heart and she waited for him to kiss her,but he picked her up and went to her room,laying her on the bed as the lights went out.She looked at his darkened form and she bit her lip as he lay beside her.The window above them smashed and she screamed,huddling to him and she heard horrid laughter.Sabastion sat up and looked out the window,familar figures ran as they flipped the bird and threw another brick into her room,smashing a small bit more of the window.She huddled close to Sabastion as he went to leave to get the boys and she shook her head.
He looked at her and her eyes shone with the light,her voice so soft."It's just us..."
He looked down at her and nodded,part of him wanted to leave and kill the boys,but more of him wanted to stay with her and just be.So he did,he lay down right beside her and kissed her,his tounge slipping to the roof of her mouth,he was slightly suprised as she moved her tounge across his.He loved her so much and he wanted to prove it to her.She leaned her head back as he kissed her neak,lovebumps rose on her skin and she felt her spine tingle.He went to her breasts and he kissed the tops of them,not going any further.She looked at him with nervouseness."It's alright...."
He nodded and went down to her stomach,lifting her shirt to get to her skin.She sighed slightly and he looked up."Are you alright with what I'm about to do?"
She nodded and gave a small smile as he continued,going down to her thighs.She closed her eyes and gasped as he went further.She knew she would remember this night for as long as she lived.
It was frigid in her room when they woke and she opened her eyes,they lay there together, wrapped in a blanket,the heater beating on them,he looked so strange when he wasnt awake and she moved some hair from his eyes.He stirred,but she didnt wake him.She tucked the covers arround him and went to the bathroom,starting the shower. When she stepped inside she shivered from the tempature diffrence and she stood there before washing.The room was getting steamy fast.She sighed and let the water run over her.It felt good and she leaned on the wall.She heard footsteps and looked out,no one there.She turned the water off and wiped her eyes."Sabastion?"
No one answered and she shrugged,turning the water back on.She wrinced her hair and a shadow came to her.She opened her eyes and screamed.The figure was dark and looming. Hades!He smiled."My dear Aquatica! No need to fear me darling."
She fainted and fell to the floor,Sabastion ran in and held her."Aroura!"
She was out cold,her head had a lump from her hitting her head and he wrapped her up,taking her to the hospital.
*~~~~~~~~~~Chapter *Three~~~~~~~~~~*
She woke later in a hospital bed.She squirmed and he held her hand."Your alright.I'm here,your safe."
She looked around."Where am I?"
He seemed relieved."Your alright...."
She nodded and tried to focus her eyes.He moved her hair and saw the pain written all over her moves as she writhed.He felt a wave of guilt and sadness wash over him and she picked up on it.She touched his cheek and he felt himself crying as she cringed from movement.
Her voice was small,whispered."Please dont cry...."
He couldnt help it and he gazed at her,guilt all over him."I should have been awake,should have went in sooner."
She shook her head and smiled despite the pain."I'm fine.You may have well saved my life."
The doctor came in and nodded."He did.You suffered from quite a bit there.Your heart was going twice as fast as any human heart could without exploding and your brain had been bruised....."
The doctor stared at her as though she were the biggest mirracle in the entire world.He cheaked her as he would normaly and then looked at her."The pain you feel,where is it?"
She couldnt locate it and she shook her head."I dont know..."
He nodded and felt arround her head and neak."Tell me when it hu-"
He didnt get the chance to finish when he touched a spot on the back of her neak she screamed.He cringed and wrote down something."Well.It seems like we found where it hurts."
She glared at him."Ya think?"
He smiled good heartedly and patted her hand."Dont worry,it is most likely nothing,but with the other injuries you had-"
"Had Sir?"She asked
He nodded and looked at her in the previous way again."Your body healed all your injuries on its own darling."
She knew her body took weeks to heal injuries,how long had she been there? She looked over at Sabastion as if to ask him the question and he touched her shoulder lightly."You've been here almost two months Aroura..."
She panicked and looked arround."No your lieing....why are you lieing to me?"
She started to cry and he closed his eyes as she shook her head.She couldnt have been here that long,not with these machines and the tests,she could die and she started to unhook herself.Sabastion looked stunned as she ripped needles and such out of her arms and head.Off her chest and legs.The doctor rushed over to her and she felt pain cruely filling her being with intence and sharp presence.She screamed and stopped moveing as he held her down.She was sobbing and Sabastion had backed ageinst the wall.She looked at him,her eyes begging him,pleading with him to get her out of there,to take her anywhere.She closed her eyes and felt betrayal as he looked away, unble to stand the pain she was going through,not wanting her to see him crying so much over the look he had not heeded.The doctor prepped a needle.
"What are you doing...what is that!?"She demanded to know,her voice high and frightened.
"Just a seditive dear.It wont hurt you."The doctor answered soothingly.
She shook her head."Dont put me to sleep...please....I've lost enugh of my life to it!"She begged and looked at Sabastion once again for help.
He heeded her this time."Doctor,dont.She's right."
The doctor looked from one to the other and sighed,nodding."Alright."
He left and she still sobbed,Sabastion went over to her and caressed her cheek with his fingers.She pushed him away and cringed from the pain once more.He felt his heart drop and he looked down."I'm sorry.But you were hurt and I didnt know what to do,I didnt know your body would heal,I had to bring you here!"
She ignored him and he grabbed his jacket,heading out of the room in anger and hurt.She didnt want him to leave,but didnt call him back to stay either.She just lay there,looking out the window and at the chair where he had been sleeping.She wiped her eyes and knew she had to get out of there.She knew they would see the real her if they looked hard enugh.She had to get out.
Days passed before Sabastion even came back to see her.She was asleep late at night and he slowly unhooked her from the machines.She woke and whimpered,but he put his hand to her mouth softly.letting her know to be quite and it was only him.He unhooked her from everything and put her in a wheelchair.He made sure the coast was clear before he wheeled her down the hall.She looked back at him and realized he was getting her out of there.She was scared as they passed people,swearing that they knew she was being taken out of the place illegally.When they were free she got out of the wheelchair weakly.She had been in the hospital bed for so long her legs were weakened and she had to get used to walking.He helped her to the taxi and told the driver where to go.She lay her head on his shoulder and hugged arround his middle.
"Thank you."Was all she could say.
*~~~~~~~~~~Chapter *Four~~~~~~~~~~*
Alot could happen to Aroura in only a few weeks as she steadily got better.Sabastion was quite suprised at how well she began to get and it seemed only when she was in the hospital was she in any trouble.They grew closer and closer through her recovery and she found more to love in him.She was enticed by him,his ways of living and the traditions he had carried with his family.She remembered her own little family,where she had lived and she had become as she was to that day.
As a warmer morning came she was outside,planting her first flower of the season.She heard the familiar crunch of Sabastion's boots on the pebbled drive way and she smiled when he spoke to ask her of her being.She answered the way she always did-with a smile,a shrug and the tilt of her head.He gave her a nod and then knealed down with her,watching her swift fingers planting the tree deep in the saftey of the moist soil.Where it would be protected by her.Planting was something she had to do.She had made huge gardens all over the world and each ones was as magnificent and wonderous as the next.Each one had her name in it and each one held a little of her life there. He watched her for hours as she planted over the next few days.Bells,Harmony sticks,and so many others he lost track of the names she said.Putting them all in small designs.She was having so much fun she looked like a child.He couldnt help but to laugh when she started to sing.She had a beautiful voice and he grinned,sitting there ageinst the old tree and watching her in loveing adoration.
She saw him looking at her in such a way and she blushed. as he stood.He took her hand and led her into the house,kissing her lips softly and then sitting on the floor,getting out the cheakerboard.She loved playing cheakers with him,spending hours on just a few moves,them talking about everything-yet nothing really.She would start school with him tomarrow and she was scared.He could see it and he placed his hand on her cheek.She looked up at him,her eyes telling him all her fears with one look.He pulled her close and held her tight.
"It isnt like your other schools....I'm in it and I'm going to be in all your classes but one.Gym wont be hard without me.I've seen you play games with your siblings come over for the afternoon."He chuckled."Those boys cant lay a finger on you."
She gave a small laugh and he lay his head on the top of hers as she ran her finger in circles arround his cheast.He shivered a little and then heard the clock chiming the time. The dongs stopped at nine as he counted them out in a low breath.Standing they went to the room for a bit of sleep before the school morning began.
Aroura entered her writting class and looked arround for a moment before walking to the teacher and clearing her voice.The teacher looked up with a grin and then he stood,seaking to the class who had already taken an interest to the girl before them.She looked very diffrent in the school's uniformed clothing and her blue hair didnt match any other's and her diffrent colored eyes stirred up some curiosity in even the teacher.She hadnt noticed her eyes had turned from both green to one green and one an orange color.
"Class meet Aroura Lennex."He introduced.
Sabastion stared at her.She looked so diffrent then that morning,her hair seemed longer,her eyes changed,what was going on?Her skin,her ankle where he sock had fallen down looked a bit scaley.And not dry skin scaley,but fish scaley!
The teacher interigated her more."Where did you come from?"
Sabastion had never asked her that before and now he wondered as she answered the teacher."An island in the Pacific not yet listed on the sea charts."
The teacher stared at his student with interest,was she serious,or just making up a story?"What is the island called Aroura?"
She answered without hesitation."Lasai."
"What does it look like there?"One student asked and Sabation waited for her answer,which she didnt leave them hanging.
"Much like any other island you guys have in those waters,but not so much modern marvels."She explained,pointing to phones and the like.
"No phones? Computers? Radios?"A girl with a pink clip in her ivory hair asked.
Aroura confimed none of that was on her island of mystery.The teacher applauded."Not bad for a story Aroura."
Aroura stared at him and her body was serious,a little hurt he though it was a lie."It's not a story.It is my home.You asked where I came from and now you jest at it.."
Sabastion saw the teacher was struck bumb,at a loss for words and actions for his new student.She took her seat and took out a notebook,waiting to begin the lesson.Even she was begining to notice her new little accessries as they started to itch.She ran her nail over them and one fell off,much time had passed since she had been talking and class was nearly half over.The teacher wanted to learn more about his new student,and he knew just the way to do it.
"Ok,for the rest of the class time and for the next two weeks I want you all to write for me a three page report on your ancesters.dont groan at me,just do this and I'll let it count for most of your grade.Since it is an A paper either way you go,most of you all will mass this class."He chirrupped.
The bell rang and she gathered her things.Another boy was bent down,tying his shoe it seemed,but he was looking at the scale she had seemingly taken off her leg.He examined it and his grin grew across his lips,sinister and evil.Oh that grin could have belonged to the most evil man on earth and still be worse then him.By far.He traveled down the hall and out the doors to the school.He had to get someone from the track field,a very special someone.
*~~~~~~~~~~Chapter *Five~~~~~~~~~~*
Aroura dressed in the school uniform for gym.She hated gym,but loved to play.She got out to the gym floor and then knew something would happen.The cieling started to crack and people got quite as a dark omonous figure broke through the ceiling.They all waited in the coner of the bleechers,the girls behind the men and the men looking terrified.The creature standing before them-and I say creature because it was no man,no human and no recognizable animal-was dark and sinister.The same scales that covered Aroura's ankle now covered his entire body.
He spoke,his voice enugh to make nails on a chalkboard the next big musical."Where are you Opialia?"
Aroura heard her name,her real name from this thing and she knew who it was.Maliki.The name chilled her,froze her to the core of her very soul.When she looked closer she made a horrifying discovery! There,in a hallow orb of Blacklight was Sabastion! He was floating on his back,his limbs hanging down,his clothes and hair following the pattern as the energy from the Blacklight slowly swirled inside the orb.She knew he was awake,knew he could see everything as she stepped forward,her teacher calling to her.
"Aroura,step away from him!"The gym teacher didnt make a move to help her though as Maliki laughed.
"Aroura is it this time my sweet?"He growled and looekd at Sabastion."Oh how sweet humans taste,and this one if ripe with love and fear!"
She closed her eyes,a silver drop-shaped light appearing on her forhead and her hair went white.Her skin went from normal to a green and the clothes fell away from her.In the place of a young human girl was now an oddly beautiful half-breed.With her almost alien looking black eyes,purest-color-of-the-sea green skin and scales covering her wrists,ankles,neak and eyes-much like a mask would-she let the trancformation continue.A lizard's tail sprouted from her and spikes went up her spine. She was a more gental,more protective terrifying.
"Put him down now Maliki!"Her voice was strong,but watery.
Maliki smirked and it only made her angry as he let the orb comtaining sabastion,now able to see his Aroura for who she was,float arround her in a circle.Sabastion's eyes were wide,his mouth agape as he stared at his once humanish lover.She was trembling all over,rage and heat built inside her as Maliki spoke."I guess you never told nayone here who you were did you?Well,well.Your a lier,portraying yourself as human! You disgrace the name of all us! Tell them who you are!"
"Aroura Lennex!"She answered strongly.
"LIER!"Maliki screamed,each word havin its own breath."Tell them who you are!"
She kept her eyes on Sabastion,making sure that Maliki didnt hurt him.She had no choice but to bend to his will."Opalia of the Water Nymphs!"
Some people gasped as there were police now inside the gym,quite a few had passed out and the others-for the lack of a better description-were shaking in thier boots. She stared Maliki right in his cold,fired eyes.She had to do something,anything.She watched the orb again,Sabastion didnt look well and she needed to get him out of there.She placed her hand where her heart would be and Maliki was there infront of her,sending her flying back into the wall,making a crater where she hit,in an instant. He seemed furious and she got to her feet.She never was a good fighter,not without a deadly ingrediant she needed to become-more powerful.She knew Maliki would take special care not to give it to her,though he couldnt think about avoiding it if she did one little thing.She was being held ageinst the wall by the throat as Maliki chuckled.
"Look at the great Opal now Zues! Is this your precious hero!"He laughed and she smirked,spitting in his face as she struggled for air.
He slapped her,harder then any man could,jerking her head to the side and she laughed,it was soft at first and he knew what he had done.She slowly turned her eyes back to him and there,trickling down her chin from her lip-blood,her crimson colored candy.Her key ingrediant.He had let go by now and started to back up.He never counted on the blood thirst,not her blood thirst.No one could drink immortal blood-no one,that is,but her.He had to get to Sabastion,whome he had discarded on the floor but she grabbed the back of his neak.He was jerked back,into her hungry,waiting mouth.Her teeth broke through his leathered skin like butter and his eyes turned into a lifeless blind red as she drained him.The police had gotten everyone else out,but Sabastion,fearing her wrath if they went near him.
She snapped out of her thirst as she came to her sences.Oh the damage she'd done!Sabation was sitting not to far away,he would never love her now and she got up,slipping in the blood from her fallen enemy and she ran,as fast as she could,out into the open air and she didnt stop,not untill she was home,not untill she was at the lake.She had slowly changed back as she sat way out in the middle of the lake,where a small little piece of rocky land jutted out of the water.Her new found sancutary.She lay down,curled in a ball,blood washing down her chin and chest as the water surrounded her naked human body.
