These two were some good friends of mine. Don't let the names fool you, Cortny is actually a guy. Yet it's pronounced the same way as the female alteration. Cortny was a good friend of Zack, in fact one of his best friends. He was pretty hurt by Zack's death. In fact I'd heard he'd been thinking of committing suicide, but i knew he didn't have the guts to do it. He knows he has to live to take care of his little brother and sister. His mom is sick, and his dad is dead. Courtney, on the other hand, was a girl. Courtney and I were definitely best friends. But we hadn't heard from each other much after Jennifer and I broke up.
"'Sup man? Haven't seen you much 'round the neighborhood. What's goin' on?" He had a smile on, Cortny must have had some kind of sex with some chick that morning, he never smiles when he doesn't, kind of funny really.
"Many things have been going on Cortny, but If I told you, you'd probably vomit all over the floor."
"Whoa dude, you must have been busy. I heard you were able to get Jennifer back." Courtney said with a cute smile, and I smiled back. But How the hell could she say that?! I never even tried to get herback! She was the one that said she loved me! Hell Jennifer BEGGED to have me back after I saved her damn a**, literally! I spoke calmy and nicely to Courtney, "Well actually It was her that got me back, she told me that she loved me, I just saved her from getting hurt."
Courtney was surprised, "Jenny never told me that! How'd you save her?"
"Just a few guys tried to hurt her, and I took her mace and just... maced'em." I couldn't tell her the truth, we're just not as close anymore. I continued, "So why are you two here? Out on a date or something?" Cortny laughed at my question.
"Nah it's not like that, Courtney just wanted to see you actually. She saw you out her window and came down, she just saw me and we both decided to see you. But uhh..." He whispered, "Between you and me, I got some goooood head from ma girl." We both laughed. Suddenly Courtney said, "Hey you heard about that new kid Angel that gotten beaten after school on Friday?"
"Yeah?" Cortny and I said simultaneously.
"Turns out he was found today! The cops found him inside some other kids locker." The only thing I could say in my mind was pretty much "Oh crap".
"What day is today?!" I asked.
"Sunday." They both said.
"Was he dead?!" I was about ready to panic.
"I'm not sure Luis... Why?"
"It's just that..." I had to think of something quick, "... It's cuz he just got into that school, who knows, maybe he was a really nice guy y'know?"
"Yeah..." Courtney looked at me.
"By the way Luis," She started, "Where's my hug?"
"Oh." I gave her a quick hug. After that, we started walking toward the park to talk.
