They said they would reach out to the unloved, the overlooked, the ones considered lesser for reasons out of their control.

I am alone.
No one is with me.
No one cares about my life.

They would help everyone, or so they claimed. They said everyone would be valued for who they were. No one would be treated unfairly, in any way. Everyone would have the same opportunities.

I can have nothing.
They deprive me of everything.
They say I am the lesser one.

They spoke out in anger against those who set standards. They spoke in pity about those who could not live their own lives—those whose voices were silenced. One man should never silence another man’s cries.

I have no voice to cry with.
They deny me my humanity.
They deny me my life.

They wanted peace, and freedom, and equality. They said they would end fear and restriction. They would uphold the rights of every man.

They say everyone has rights.
Yet they grant the right to ignore my rights.
History repeats itself in the age-old reason; they dehumanize me.

And thus, and thus, the only right I have is the right to be killed.
