The Planning
The next morning, two days before Evangeline's marriage ball, she woke up early and dressed into her cheery clothes: a white laced dress that bellowed to the ground, and a clear, sparkling headband with a floral charm attached to it. She decided to go barefoot so not to trip on anything during her journey. She brought a pair of shoes so no one would expect more than what they were supposed to. But, before she could reach to the dining room to get a basket of goods, two guards had almost bumped into her. "What are you doing up so early?"one of the guards asked. "Why are you carrying your slippers?"asked the other. The princess thought for a second, then said," Well..uh..I am going to take a bath in the royal pond." The guards both looked at each other as if the other was supposed to know, then blushed.
"Then why are you going to the dining room?"
"I need to eat breakfast, don't I?"
"Well, ehemn, we'll be leaving you to your bath and, uh, breakfast now, Princess."
Evangeline always wondered about the guards at the castle. They always seemed awkward to her. She continued to the dining room, wondering how the prince of her dreams would look like.
