Ok, so I just found out yesterday night that my golden retriever, Rosie, has cancer. crying crying crying crying crying crying crying It's a mast cancer...I still need to look it up... but basically they removed this golfball size mass from her back leg that had a 7 inch long stem that ran up and down inside her leg. However, it was not attached to anything, it was just sitting there. So.. now that they know it's cancerous they want Rosie to go back into surgery to take some tissue from arround the area and test it as well, and then put her through Kemo theropy. I found out that dogs don't react to the treatment the same way that people do. They rarely loose their hair or get sick, which is good, and they say that if the treatment goes well there is a great chance that the cancer will not come back. Rosie is seven years old, and so she still has a lot of life to live, and we think that this treatement is ok because of that. We love Rosie, and our other two dogs, but sometimes there is a point where you must decide what is too much. Luckily we have not had to make that choice with any of our dogs yet, and I hope that never happens. Especially with Rosie, she is such a sweet dog....please keep her in your prayers.
