I just got a pet rat today. We went all the way out to Lancaster, which is like an hour's drive. I really wanted to go to That Fish Place, though, because of their selection and the way they treat the animals. I named him Jack. He's the sweetest thing! I love him soooooooo much. I was looking at another rat, but I found out she was a girl and I wanted a boy. The cage Jack was in was full of tiny rats and Dad and I thought they were a really small breed of rat. But it turned out, they were regular rats that were just 5 weeks old!! And then I saw Jack in there, and I asked to hold him. A lady came out and gave him to me to hold, and as soon as I held him I had to have him. I told Dad this one, this is the one I want, all the while squealing with glee.
Also, there was this really weird woman there. She was buying a rat, and she was asking the guy who worked there all sorts of questions even though she seemed to know a whole lot about rats already. We had been talking to the guy before her, and I kind of still wanted to ask him some questions, but the woman was asking so many questions, and they were all about showing rats and agility training and things I didn't care about so I started walking away to try to look at the other rats, and the woman grabbed my arm! She said "You should be listening to this too." She grabbed my arm pretty hard, too. And I really wanted to ask about some things but I was afraid of the woman. This was all before I saw Jack.
Jack is on my shoulder right now, being so good. I wuv him.
