“Hey Ashlynn! Ashlynn? Ashlynn!!!!” Julia shook me violently while we were in her truck. “Oh huh, sorry, I keep getting this weird dream or some flashback of some sort. “ I snapped out. “Oh you okay though? You seem like your in an another universe now-a-days.” she looked at me with concern. “I’m fine, let’s just go to the party…” we got out and checked each other. “I look like the girl on Die or Fly right?” Julia was grimacing. “No, no, you look like Karen Myers from the soaps! Really!” I smoothed my top and took her by the arm and walked in.
We were 2 girls in California parting ‘till dawn. Well we were until I threw up from drinking too much beer. “I am so hung up… ughhh” I threw up again. Then I passed out. Julia brought me back to our dorm as fast as she could, after she flirted with 50 other guys.
“Ashlynn, wake up!” Julia slapped my arm when we got to our dorm. I couldn’t hear her, but somehow I knew, but then I had some dream that I had earlier.
“Hello, I - I -ughhh really liked meeting you…” there was a guy stammering, while I was standing there. I couldn’t see his face but I felt really happy or some feeling, I didn’t know. I smiled at him, and told him something about a dance. We walked side-by-side near a lake. We danced to the sound of the water. We jumped in, but then I suddenly woke up.
“Oh my gosh Julia, Julia where are you?” I was sweating and I looked around the room. “Oh your finally awake, how are you?” Julia stood over me with a cup of coffee. She handed me the cup, and I stared at it and finally took a long sip. “I had the dream again, and I learned more about him.” I stood up and put the cup down on my table. “Tell me about him.” Julia put air quotes around “him“. “Well there was this guy, he acted all shy, I couldn’t see his face, but strangely I felt liked I knew him and liked him or even loved him….” I pulled a robe over my shoulders. “Weird dream, was he cute?” Julia fingered the bedpost. “Oh yeah, his hair was like a crew cut, blond of course, and he had a tux on.” I took another sip out of the cup. I pushed a lock of hair out of my face. “He sounds cute. Well maybe you’ve seen him before.” I shook my head and drank all of my coffee. “No, I’ve looked 3 times, no luck. It probably is just a fantasy.” Some one knocked on our door and Julia walked over and opened it. “Oh hey Amy!” I called out and walked over to her “I just got new glasses, they look so much better then those dorky glasses I had before.” Amy jumped up and down; on her face were these coolest black glasses with rhinestones on the edge. “Awww Amy they are the cutest!” Julia was all over them, but eventually she stopped admiring them long enough for her to say, “I’m starved lets go and get something to eat.” I looked out and saw it was mid-afternoon. “How long was I knocked out?” I looked at the clock on the wall. “Wow….I didn’t even get a hangover yet…” Then Julia rolled her eyes at me and put her arm around me, leading me to my bed.
My stomach started to hurt so I went into the bathroom. Julia followed me in. “You look tired Ashlynn, you better take a rest. I shook my head and said, “We better get down, remember Tyler invited you over for a lunch. You didn’t go before I woke up did you?” I grinned. She laughed with Amy and said no. I changed into skinny jeans and a red spaghetti strap top. “Perfect outfit Ashlynn, not trying to impress Will are you?” Amy cooed over my outfit and giggled. “No way, I wouldn’t let that dirt bag see me in this in a million years.” I pretended to look mortified as I pulled my sneakers on. “Oh right you want to look pretty when he’s around. Tyler invited Will and Josh to join us too.” I groaned and pulled Julia and Amy towards the halls of our dorms. “You guys are always saying that Will likes me, he does not. And you know that. Me and Amy know that you have a thing for Tyler Julia, and Amy Julia thinks that Josh is trying to get you to go with him to the dance this year.” We all started laughing and Julia admitted that she did have a thing for Tyler. “Does Josh really want to take me to the dance?” Amy looked hopeful. “Oh yeah he does. You better ask him, before he asks you though. It’ll be fun.” I fingered my ring. Amy jumped up and down for a nano second and we watched her. We all laughed and found Tyler and the others. I gave Tyler a nudge towards Julia, and Amy towards Josh. Julia and Amy, pushed me forcefully towards Will. I gave them a look and smoothed down my hair. “Hey boys, ready to go?” They stood around and Will answered for them, “Actually, Tyler wants to ask Julia to the party at Kelly’s next party, and Josh is too shy to ask Amy.” We gaped and the Tyler and Josh started laughing and acting all nervous. “I would like to go with you Josh but…” Amy paused. “What?” Josh grinned as if he knew something. “I was going to not go to her party, she’s mad at me for spilling punch on her new dress at the last party, the one where Ashlynn…” she trailed off her sentence again. I giggled and acted out dramatically what had happened
