Chapter VI: Flash Flood:
Yubel’s Curse pt.2
Events from the last chapter had not yet concluded. Davaku and Tomasa were in a heated rematch against one another. Tomasa still had all her life points plus additional points, while Davaku also had full health and was also invincible thanks to his Clock Tower Prison. The trap cards Bad Reaction to Simochi and Eye of truth were active on Davaku’s field, allowing him to see Tomasa’s hand and then do damage for spell cards during the standby phase.
In a car on the way back to airport Mr. Takahashi watched the duel on his Tadashii screen tv built into his limo. He was pleased to see that Davaku had re-surfaced, but seeing the rematch made him worry about a certain card Tomasa might play. The duel resumed.
:Tomasa:5000LP: Your Destiny Hero Defender is too powerful for me to take out, but your captain Tenacious isn’t. I flip my face down monster into attack position.
Tomasa flipped her defense monster into attack mode, it was Roughtweiller, the robotic canine. 800/1200.
:Tomasa:5000LP: I’ll attack your captain Tenacious, both of our monsters getting destroyed!
Roughtweiller bit captain Tenacious’s metallic armor with it’s sharp canine teeth. Tenacious slammed a fist into the pup, killing them both. Both monsters disappeared after the small confrontation, but Tomasa gained from it. She grabbed her Elemental Hero Stratos and her Polymerization. She placed Hero Barrier face down on the field and summoned her Elemental Hero Sparkman in attack mode that ended her turn.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: Well, well, well you got me in a tight spot… So I you, you kept Polymerization in your hand a bad mistake.
:Tomasa cringing:5000LP: Crap, I got so carried away in my strategy I forgot!
Shinoda hit his head slightly “dumb girl, now she’ll lose life points…”
Andi “and a bit of herself to the duel… How long can she keep herself from playing the Yubel card depends on the amount of life points she loses…. If Davaku could hit her with one lumsum it would surely take her out” Andi was deducing his own ways to defeat Tomasa “but the disease strategy is no good…” I know of your Stratos’s special ability because he is also a Destiny Hero card, but I’m going to get rid of the small advantage I gave you. I sacrifice Defender to summon Kaiser Glider! 2400/2200
A new monster came to the field, it was Davaku’s Kaiser Glider, a golden dragon monster covered in armor. It had far more attack points than Tomasa’s monsters, but it wouldn’t be able to hit them, due to Tomasa’s trap, Davaku just needed a way to boost his own power.
:Tomasa pointing out:5000LP: He’s not a Destiny hero
biggrin avaku:4000LP: This was my first monster card… Kaiser Glider has been with me, my entire dueling career and he will not fail me now. I place one card face down and attack.
:Tomasa:5000LP: You know what’s coming I play Hero Barrier, it will stop your attack and keep my Elemental Hero Sparkman safe!
Davaku’s attack failed as he had anticipated, and he did not lose anything because of it, now it was Tomasa’s turn. She drew.
Tomasa’s Hand: Elemental Hero Knospe, Etoile Cyber, Blade Skater, Elemental Hero Stratos, and Miracle Fusion, double spell.
:Tomasa getting hit with 1000 life point damage:4000LP: Ohhh…. You’ll pay for that. I now activate my Polymerization card to fuse Cyber Etoile and Blade skater together to create…
biggrin avaku:4000LP: Think again, thanks to the Cursed Seal of Forbidden spell trap card you cannot use that card, for the rest of the duel.
:Tomasa:4000LP: You tricky… Well then, I’ll make use of that Polymerization card anyways. I’ll use it as a sacrifice to play Double spell. What Double spell does is take one spell card you played and use it as my own.
Tomasa thought of all the spells Davaku had played. She thought of using Raigeki to destroy Kasier Glider, but hitting Davaku directly would be pointless to her cause of his immortality created by the Clock Tower Prison card. Instead Tomasa used the Pot of Avarice, because her deck needed more cards in it and she needed a different strategy. The five monsters she returned to her deck were the three Cyber Dragons, Cyber Valley and Roughtweiller. (So get ready to see lots of the cards she used last chapter, again, although you see them basically every chapter.) Tomasa drew Fifth Hope and E-Emergency call.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: Those cards won’t help you much.
:Tomasa giggled:4000LP: Guess not, but what may help me is if I play Miracle Fusion, this will fuse my monsters, Elemental Hero Avian and my gal Bursty to create Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer in defense position. 2100/1200
biggrin avaku grinned:4000LP: You really are getting desperate huh?
:Tomasa sighed:4000LP: I hate defending, but I won’t keep attacking when I’m facing a superior force, so I’ll also place Sparkman in defense mode and summon Elemental Hero Stratos in attack mode. 1800/300
biggrin avaku:4000LP: So you’re going to use it’s ability to destroy my Field Barrier huh?
:Tomasa nodded: And bad reaction, for every Elemental Hero on my field excluding Stratos I destroy a spell or trap card, say so long!
Stratos came to the field, but instead of grabbing an Elemental Hero from her deck, she used it’s secondary special ability and destroyed Field Barrier then Bad Reaction. Davaku’s Clock Tower Prison’s glow went away and it was left unprotected. Tomasa called it a turn.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: You tried so hard to get to me and yet you couldn’t, now I summon Destiny Hero Dunker. 1200/1700 He will inflict 500 life points for every Destiny Hero I discard from my hand. I’ll make use of Malicious and send him to the graveyard.
Dunker held Malicious’s face pushing him into the ground destroying his comrade in order for the good of the team, Tomasa was blasted with 500 life points “now Kaiser Glider obliterate that Stratos with hell fire!” Kaiser Glider opened it’s metallic jaw and blasted poor stratos away, damaging Tomasa further. It was now Tomasa’s turn and she gained 1000 life points for having Fifth hope in her hand.
Tomasa’s Hand: Elemental Hero Knospe, Blade Skater, Etoile Cyber, Fifth Hope E-Emergency call and Cyber Dragon
:Tomasa:3900LP: I set Elemental Hero Knospe face down and end my turn.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: I’ll destroy Sparkman with Kaiser Glider and Knospe with Dunker.
Kaiser Glider and Dunker destroyed each of Tomasa’s defense, Davaku then placed one trap card face down, now having three face downs, the Clock Tower Prison and Eye of Truth face up on his field, with his monsters.
Tomasa’s Hand: Blade Skater, Etoile Cyber, Fifth Hope, Cyber Dragon, E-Emergency Call and Cyber Valley.
:Tomasa grinned gaining 1000 life points:4900LP: This is sooo good, I love your card! All this time you decreased my playing strategy, but now you’re just increasing my life points, I guess I’ll have to call it a turn.
biggrin avaku drew:4000LP: Time to remove that nuisance of yours, I summon Destiny Hero Doom Lord in attack position. 600/800 He will remove your Phoenix Enforcer, but doing so ends my turn.

biggrin avaku:4000LP: You have done nothing lately, aren’t you getting sick of stalling the inevitable, you can’t hit my life points.
“He’s right…” Andi admitted “while her life points go up, Tomasa is becoming careless. The will for her to duel disappears.” He looked at Tomasa who had a big grin on her face, she looked like she was becoming dizzy with joy.
Hearing this brought a concerned expression to Shinoda’s face “you mean, she’s becoming drunk? How is that possible?”
“She can feel the duel through her soul, but it’s now blinding her”
biggrin avaku:4000LP: Instead of blasting it and giving you a card I’ll remove it instead!
:Tomasa:5900LP: That’s cool… But I’ma stop you by using it’s effect, I send him and ya know, something from my hand and one card from my graveyard goes to my deck thingy…
Tomasa’s voice was loopy as she discarded Blade Skater and returned Mirage of Nightmare, that she lost to the eradicating epidemic virus to the top of her deck, Cyber Valley going to the graveyard in pieces. It was now Tomasa’s turn.
Tomasa’s Hand: Etoile Cyber, Fifth Hope, Cyber Dragon, E-Emergency call, Cyber Dragon and Mirage of Nightmare
:Tomasa’s life points increasing yet again:6900LP: I put… E-Emergency call face down and… Fifth hope and I’ll play mirage of nightmare… Welp, your turn.
Mr. Takahashi showed up, he was concerned for Tomasa’s well being. Her life points were so high and it seem so was she “what is this, why is this duel still going?”
“Tomasa is winning it seems, but what she doesn’t understand is her deck is limited, she can’t go on like this forever, she has to make a play” Andi admitted, the duel was going on and on, with out end, Davaku at the moment had more cards in his deck, so the victory was in his favor, even with the life point situation.
Phoenix Enforcer returned to Tomasa’s field, Davaku removed it again using his Doom Lord and placed one monster face down, he was preparing himself. Tomasa drew her third cyber dragon using Mirage of nightmare in Davaku’s turn now it was her move, she drew the card that completed her collection, power bond. She also had to discard her Etoile Cyber, due to Mirage of Nightmare’s special ability.
:Tomasa’s life points further increasing due to power bond:7900LP: Wowie, get ready to see a strong monster you…
Tomasa shook her fist at Davaku trying to place the Power Bond card into the duel disk. Davaku frowned “am I dueling a drunk person, why is she like this?”
“It’s the fact that she has this many life points!” Andi shouted, explaining to Davaku. Who quickly deduced that when she is at 4000 life points her mood is normal, lowered life points her mood is negative, increased and it becomes positive.
Tomasa finally got the power bond card into the duel disk. Power bond is like Polymerization for machine type monsters, but when the monster finally hits the field it’s attack and defense is doubled, but the person who played power bond loses that monsters original attack points. Tomasa used Power Bond to fuse her three cyber dragons together to create Cyber end dragon 4000/4000.
The mighty Cyber End Dragon was three Cyber Dragon’s put together, it looked like a silver version of the monster King Ghidora. The monster’s three heads roared loudly, then it’s attack doubled to 8000 leaving Tomasa with the strongest monster in the game.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: That monster could destroy me if I didn’t have my shield. (Gloat, boast)
:Tomasa wobbled a bit:7900LP: It could, like that doom lord…
Cyber End Dragon used it’s mighty power to blast Doom lord to nothingness, so it could never use it’s ability again. As soon as Tomasa’s turn ended her life points lost 4000. She was covered in a windy vortex, then her mind regained it’s consciousness. She was back in the game. It was now Davaku’s turn and he had a perfect strategy to get rid of Tomasa’s giant dragon, but first Tomasa drew four new cards due to the effect of Mirage of Nightmare.
:Tomasa:3900LP: Darn, I should had defended instead…
biggrin avaku: 4000LP: Shoulda, coulda, woulda, now I’m going to attack, Kaiser Glider attack Cyber End Dragon!
“He’s mad, why would he do that?” Shinoda gasped.
Mr. Takahashi nodded “it’s a good move, Kaiser Glider has a powerful effect.”
Kaiser Glider engaged battle against the powerful Cyber End Dragon, being blasted into oblivion by the monster. Then Davaku revealed his face down trap card, Call of the Haunted, it revived Kaiser Glider. As Kaiser Glider came back, Cyber end dragon disappeared back into Tomasa’s fusion deck.
:Tomasa:3900LP: What happened?
biggrin avaku:4000LP: When Kaiser Glider is destroyed it removes one card from the field and sends it to your hand, now you can’t do a thing against my next attacks! Kaiser Glider strike her down again!
Kaiser Glider took out a large chunk of her life points, then Dunker, leaving her at a mere 300. She was knocked over. Her hair became flustered again, losing so many life points at one point made her groan in pleasure and in pain. She was ready to strike in anger, but with Mirage of nightmare she would lose every single card in her hand. Rain clouds above began to form.
“It’s happening…” Mr. Takahashi recognized it.
“Yubel’s not in her hand though…” Andy frowned.
Tomasa’s hand: Emergency Provisions, Different Dimension Capsule, Elemental Hero Poison Rose, Zero Gravity
Tomasa gazed at the top card of her deck, grinning fiendishly “it’s now…” she drew, the card that appeared behind her was a shadow. Everybody could see it glowing blackness. Rain began to fall from the black clouds above and then a down pour. Tomasa’s eyes were now yellow instead of their greenish hue. Even Davaku cringed.
“Yu-yubel…” Tomasa uttered.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: T-this is still a duel! You have to lose five of those cards…
Davaku knew Tomasa would use Emergency provisions to save all of the cards.
:Tomasa gaining life points regaining somewhat more sensitivity, but not much:1300LP: I will discard everything but Emergency provisions.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: It’s a quick-play, you could have saved your hand!
:Tomasa:1300LP: My hand is better in the graveyard, now I play my face down Fifth hope, it sends five Elemental heros from my graveyard back into my deck, I choose Elemental Hero Stratos, Elemental Hero Captain Gold, Elemental Hero Knospe, Elemental Hero Poison Rose and Elemental Hero Sparkman.
The five Elementals returned to her deck and she drew the cards Premature Burial and Elemental Hero Sparkman.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: Now I see what you were going for…
:Tomasa grinned:1300LP: I play Emergency provisions to get rid of my annoying Mirage of nightmare to increase my life points further.
Tomasa became almost normal again, until she played the card premature Burial, using it to bring Yubel back from the graveyard in attack position. The spot where Yubel was summoned was now a void of darkness.
“She played it!” Andi watched, his eyes terrified “the hatred has now overcome her…”
Tomasa grinned “My Yubel rise from your graved prison and spread your wings!”
Yubel came to the field spreading it’s wings as Tomasa told it. One side of the monster holding the strength of a man, the other holding the speed of a female, the creature was an evil sight of all humanity. Rain poured down onto the holograms and duelists. Davaku gazed into Yubel’s eyes his becoming slightly yellow, but he wouldn’t allow it to entrance him.
:Tomasa:1500LP: The grudge of Yubel has you, but it would be careless for me to leave that Clock Tower Prison standing, so allow me to demolish it!
Tomasa flipped her face down E-Emergency call, using it to bring Captain gold to her hand, which she discarded to grab skyscraper, which she played to tear down Davaku’s field spell Clock Tower Prison. Davaku was no longer immortal. He lost Destiny Hero Doom lord which was his strategy to fight Yubel, now it seemed hopeless.
“Now Yubel can destroy him…” the monk and the other two men braced themselves as the destruction of the Clock Tower Prison took place
biggrin avaku:4000LP: The violence…
He cringed trying to get his words out. Yubel grinned at him, seeing into his mind, into his soul. Tomasa had the very same grin on her face. Davaku drew, he needed to attack Yubel. He desired to attack, he wanted to destroy Yubel, there was anger on his face, hatred. He couldn’t attack, but he had a move to make while Tomasa’s move still was in progress.

When Destiny Hero Dreadmaster came to the field it destroyed Kaiser Glider, that sent Yubel back to Tomasa’s hand.
:Tomasa:1500LP: Yubel!
biggrin avaku:4000LP: Now I special summon Destiny Hero Doom Lord and Destiny Hero Malicious from my graveyard in attack position due to Dreadmaster’s ability.
The fearsome Dreadmaster held it’s hands out, reviving two more of Davaku’s destiny monster. Tomasa lost her best monster to her hand, while Davaku had his summoned. Dreadmaster’s attack was the combined attack of all of his face up Destiny Heroes. 600+1200+800 = 2600
Tomasa’s hair regained it’s color, but with her life points so low, her eyes continued to hold Yubel’s hatred.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: This duel has finally come to an end, now it’s my move!
As Davaku began his move, Tomasa’s phoenix Enforcer returned once again, he was getting fed up with that card, but he had no cards to actually destroy it. He removed it from play and then discarded Destiny Hero Diamond dude from his hand, using Dunker’s effect, damaging Tomasa.
Tomasa’s hand: Yubel, Elemental Hero Sparkman and A Hero Emerges
:Tomasa grinned:2000LP: You talk so much about Destiny, but you don’t understand how this duel will end with Yubel! I summon Sparkman in attack mode and set Hero Emerges face down. I attack Destiny Hero dread master!
Sparkman’s attack climbed to 2600 to match Dreadmaster’s, but Davaku activated his Book of moon to place Sparkman face down in defense position, saving his monster.
The crowd had dispersed in shelter due to the rain, but the duelists remained on the field, the duel kept going and going, it was now Davaku’s turn.
biggrin avaku:4000LP: I discard Destiny Hero Blade master from my hand to do 500 points of damage to you, then I’ll destroy your Sparkman using Destiny Hero Dreadmaster!
:Tomasa growled:1500LP: I play a Hero Emerges to summon Yubel!
Yubel came back to the field darker and full of more hatred than before. Davaku grinned, then frowned trying to not replay. “I attack… I attack…” Davaku pointed to the sky directing his attack to nowhere, so that he wouldn’t do damage to himself. Dreadmaster stood down and now it was Tomasa’s turn.
:Tomasa:500LP: Give into the hatred… Give into it!
Tomasa drew the spell card Rosebud increasing her life points by 1000, due to the eye of truth’s special ability. Davaku and her were at an endless stalemate, Tomasa’s Yubel couldn’t do damage during her turn and Davaku kept himself from blasting the monster. Tomasa placed Sparkman in attack mode and used him to destroy Destiny Hero Doom lord, Davaku lost his first damage of the duel, possibly even his last.
:Tomasa:1500LP: Yubel now needs a sacrifice, so send Sparkman to the graveyard…
Yubel tore Tomasa’s Sparkman to pieces, keeping herself on the field. It was Davaku’s turn and with no Doom lord he was in a bit of entrapment. Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer returned to the field. “I will destroy your Yubel, once and for all!”
biggrin avaku activated his newest card:3000LP: I play…
Davaku looked at his hand, he had nothing that could stop Yubel, everything was breaking down, the duel, his destiny. Tomasa glared at him, her hatred dissipated due to her increasing life points. Davaku however wanted to end the duel. He placed a trap card down and ended his turn.
Tomasa drew the card Enemy controller, she glowed once again her life points increasing, due to the special ability of Davaku’s permanent trap card, the eye of truth, which raised her life points by 1000 during each of her standby phases, if she had one or more spell cards in her hand (in case you forgot.)
Tomasa then ended her turn by giving Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer to Yubel. Davaku was now ready to destroy the monster. He revealed his face down, a trap Raigeki, Raigeki break, it would destroy one card on the field by discarding a card from his hand. Yubel was hit by a lightning bolt and then it was destroyed. Tomasa felt the destruction of her most treasured card, placing her hand on her chest squeezing her breast. In agony she felt as if her heart was just ripped out. She growled in hatred, she had too many life points to be angry, but losing the card she just lost brought her such anger, she screamed loudly.
biggrin avaku smirked:3000LP: At last, I’ve done it!
“Tomasa’s best card!” Shinoda gasped.
“The hatred is not yet gone…” Andi then thought deeply something terrible had been unleashed.
:Tomasa:2500LP: You done a terrible thing… Destroying Yubel has only angered her…
Tomasa’s eyes were filled with a vicious glare. Davaku realized she had nothing left he attacked her with Dreadmaster. Tomasa growled, two large dragon like heads coming out from under the ground, followed by long necks. A new monster had taken Yubel’s place, it was a dragon like version of Yubel. The monster flexed it’s muscles and roared loudly. Davaku’s dreadmaster’s attack hit him instead.

:Tomasa:2500LP: By destroying Yubel you created Yubel Terror Incarnate. 0/0
Davaku was now out of ideas. His monsters could not defeat Tomasa’s Yubel, he had the cards to create Destiny End Dragon in his hand, but he didn’t want to summon it against the new Yubel. He kept himself from attacking by placing his hands over his eyes. Yubel Terror Incarnate had a giant red eye on the center of it’s body. It gazed into Davaku’s eyes, making him think he was the monster.
It was now Tomasa’s turn, she drew the card Elemental Hero Lady heat, but she didn’t play it, her life points increased by 1000 due to the eye of truth, which was still in play because it’s a permanent trap card. She saw Davaku suffering. She knew it was her Yubel’s power. The pain in Davaku’s eyes brought a flow of guilt to Tomasa(not Catholic guilt, this is Duel monsters, not church.) Her eyes reverted back to green. She looked at her duel disk, seeing the destruction Yubel had caused, she had to repent. “Davaku, this duel has gone on long enough…”
The crowd watched as Tomasa was about to place her hand over her deck, but Davaku stopped her “don’t do that! End this duel, then we can move on!”
“You won, all of your sacrifice and courage against the darkness will not be in vain, even if I created this darkness…” Tomasa sighed as the clouds in the sky began to clear, but Davaku shouted angrily.
“Prove to me you beat me the first time! This is our destiny to fight forever, let’s duel!” He explained to her.
Mr. Takahashi watched as Tomasa showed compassion to her opponent, he realized she was a good choice for the D-force. Andi learned that Tomasa was only caught in the tide, the events of her life points increasing and decreasing threw her into a vortex of emotions that couldn’t be controlled, but now she had a clear mind.
:Tomasa:3500LP: You want me to end this… Very well I summon Elemental Hero Lady heat and attack your Malicious! 1300/1000
Lady heat blasted Malicious away, damaging Davaku by 500, Tomasa then played Enemy controller from her hand. The video game controller came to her and she used the power to control Destiny hero Dunker, this left Elemental Hero Dreadmaster with zero attack points. Elemental Hero Lady heat disappeared.
biggrin avaku:500LP: Now I see… You spared me Yubel’s curse.
:Tomasa winked:3500LP: For now. I attack with Destiny Hero Dunker!
Tomasa’s newly acquired Destiny Hero dunker destroyed Davaku’s ultimate Destiny Hero, dread master, depleting his life points to zero. Both duelists fell over. Tomasa onto her hands and knees, Davaku onto his foot and knee.
The rain was gone. Mr. Takahashi, Shinoda and Andi ran to the two duelists. Both of them were panting from the duel. Davaku walked up to Tomasa, he held his hand out and helped her up. Both duelists were done for the day.
“At last, it is over” Andi sighed “this battle was a flash flood of hatred…”
“I thought it was fun” Tomasa exclaimed, placing her deck and graveyard together. “All of my cards, Phwew…”
“So who’s this guy?” Davaku looked at the monk standing beside Tomasa.
Everything was explained, about Andi joining D-force. Then the duelists all ended up on a boat. Davaku announced to the D-force squad (Davaku, Andi, Tomasa) that going to the Island of Dragos (Rainbow Dragon’s Island) from the air was a bad idea. He knew this from past experience. The three set sail on a yot.
