A friend would pick you up when
you fall. A BEST friend would
pick you up and then push
you down again.

The quote above is from the profile of coolgal912 (hope thats the right numbers, but, whatevs!). The way i see it, this quote has more truth to it than a standard history textbook.

A good friend will be there to pay bail when you get arrested. An even better friend would be sitting on the bench next to you saying "Damn, that was fun..."

That quote was from my little bro.

At this point in my life, I feel like I have to prioritize everything. In all honesty, I need to redefine the term "friend".

My conclusions thus far (which may or may not change before i finish this entry):

-You can count someone as your friend if you know that, if it came down to it, they'd take a bullet for you. Of course, they hope they never have to, because getting shot would suck, but they'd do it for you anyway.
-You can trust someone if there is no doubt in your mind that what you say to them will not turn around and bite you in the a** a week later.
-A person is a great friend if they'll let you cry on their shoulder, dry your eyes, and then smack you upside the head to let you know how stupid you're being.
-Someone who isn't going to tell you why you're getting smacked upside the head isn't really doing you any favors.
-If someone only lets you in on secret because they expect youll come running back to them willing to lick their shoes clean after they ******** them up with your blood, sweat, and tears, you dont need them.

Based on what I've said already:

-I don't need you guys, my lovely shunners.
-At one point in my life, i would have killed for you but not anymore.
-Because I'm not sure you all would take the bullet for me.
-Only about two people in that entire group are worth a damn to me:
-The one who has every reason under the sun to hate me and doesn't.
-The one who has seen me break everyone I've ever cared about and
get broken more than my fair share of times and still would take the
bullet. Yeah, dude, come clean sooner next time. We could avoid all
the bloodshed.
-I still love you guys. I'd still take the bullet for you, wether you'd do the same for me or not.

And, most of all,

-To those who have taken the bullet for me
-To those who shot the gun
-To those who let me cry on their shoulders
-To those who smack me upside the head when I'm being stupid
-To those who have seen the full extent of my stupidity and still put up with it
And
-To everyone who will ever cause me to redefine anything in my life,

I love you.

I realize I'm not getting a prize for being awesome or anything this year, but i dont want it anyway. I know ive been stupid. I know ive hurt some of the people that matter most in my life. I know ive pursued thing that never should have happened, broken my share of hearts, spilled my share of secrets, pissed of more than my share of people, kissed up to more people than should be possible, but

I'd do it all again in a heartbeat, because I'm happy with where this road lead me.

And so send this to everyone you love, everyone whos hurt you, everyone who makes you redefine something.
