Methinks the above shot explains what I'm getting at. With two petition threads going on (one for Heavy Weapons, the other for Combat Walkers), I'm reluctant to start a third one at the moment, mainly since a good number of peeps don't seem to distinguish between combat walker-type mecha (legged, personal-scale vehicles that can seat one person such as the Egg Walker) and mecha parts (Mecha Musume falls in this category). The basic idea is as follows:
The WWII Mecha Anthro items basically allow your avi to equip mechanical leg parts (they look more like they replace your avi's legs in some cases) and weapons whose designs are derived from, you guessed it--WWII-era vehicles, mostly tanks and planes. They're based on the Mecha Musume concept created by Shimada Humikane and as such, explains why an avi that stays true to the Mecha Musume style is more or less running around in his/her undies.
Unlike Humikane's original idea, the WWII-style Mecha Anthro equips can be equipped on male avis (believe it or not, my Strike Witches fangirl of a younger cousin happens to like the idea of "Mecha Shounen" as a male counterpart to "Mecha Shoujo/Musume" ). On top of that, there aren't any real restrictions on what else you can equip with it, though to stay true to Mecha Musume...ditch the pants and run around in your undies (and when I say undies, I mean briefs, not boxers--it's infinitely many times more lulzy that way)!
I was originally going to sketch out some uniforms to go with the corresponding Sherman and Panzer parts but never did due to lack of free time. Also in the plans for the concept art were Kitteh Ears and Tails but I figured those are already available on Gaia. Now that I've presented this idea, you can now judge it for yourself. OwO
Trivia: Yes, the avis in the concept art shot I posted at the top of this entry are indeed Len and Rin Kagamine. Yay for the Vocaloid Twins.
