*himeko is trying to find a way out of the alternate reality that is the Other Gaia. she is abominably cold and keeps hearing the sound of the wind. eventually, the wind turns into voices*

???: hush! and shush! make no noise, for the beldam may hear you.

himeko: beldam? who's that?

*suddenly, three ethereal beings appear in front of her. all three take on the forms of children*

himeko: who are you?

child #1: names, names, names. names are always the first to go.

himeko: well, are you a boy or a girl?

child #1: well, when i was really little, i had long hair and dressed in skirts. at some point in my life, my hair was cut short and i began wearing breeches. so, i guess i had been a boy in life.

child #2: i remember many things from the Other world, but no names. i remember my governess bringing me my hoop and stick. but i can't remember the name of my governess anymore.

child #3: i also remember my mamma planting tulips in the garden and giving them names.

himeko: i don't think tulips have names.

child #3: i'm sure they do. i think their names were red, orange, red and orange, red, orange, and yellow. something like that.

himeko: how did you all get here?

child #2: the beldam brought us here. she transformed into my grandmother, who raised me as an orphan. after i got here, i never saw my real grandmother again.

child #1: she transformed into my sister.

child #3: she took on the form of my mother.

all three: she lured us away using treasures and treats. she told us she loved us. but she locked us here, sapping away our life energy, killing us and keeping us from moving on to the next world. what has brought you here?

himeko: well, she transformed into one of my friends. she created two others to be my other friends. she's holding my real friends prisoner here and i need to get them back! do you know how i can do that?

child #1: you must find our souls. the beldam has them somewhere in this world. you must find them and send us to the afterlife. only then will your friends be revealed to you.

himeko: how will i know if your souls are there?

child #2: you must use the stone...

himeko: what stone?

*the children fade away and himeko submits into nothingness*
