Ryu and Hatsumi sat down while Kyo was serving breakfast. It was Pancakes, sausages, and grits. The way Ryu ate it would seem he never ate before. He was a messy eater like always. Kyo sat down next to Ryu. She looked at him laughing softly. “Ryu you’re such a messy eater.” She smiled giving him a napkin. He blinked looking at her. “Sorry.” He took the napkin whipping his face off then began eating again this time a little neater.

Later on Ryu and Kyo left the house going back to her place for Kyo to change since she stayed over night at Hatsumi’s house. Hatsumi often stayed back writing for her job. She wrote magazine articles for some famous magazine company.

Kyo and Ryu walked back to her place Ryu of course hiding his cat-like features. They walked up to her apartment building going inside, welcomed by a cool gust of air. Ryu raced Kyo up the stairs Ryu winning by a long shot. Kyo unlocked her door letting him inside. It still smelled like it was two years ago. He smiled looking around. “Do you remember the first time I came to your apartment?” She laughed. “Of course. Who could forget, ‘Your house is so big!’ I mean the look on your face.” Both of them laughed walking in to the living room. “I guess you can wait here while I get ready.” He nodded. Kyo walked into her room grabbing a towel and a change of clothing then disappearing into the bathroom. Ryu took off his hat and let his tail go free from the deadly grip of the belt loops. There was a knock at the door a few minutes after Kyo had gone into the shower. He had been staring out the window. Ryu turned around looking at the door. He walked over to it trying to listen to see who it was. “Kyoooo” The voice trailed on. He blinked. “I know that voice….” He opened the door and Hiroko and Yuzume there still knocking as he opened the door. They blinked looking at him. “Kyo’s I the shower.” He let them in. Both of them staring at him. “….Ah….who are you? Or are you one of Kyo’s special guests.” Hiroko said laughing a bit. “Now I feel hurt, you don’t remember me?” They blinked. “No not really….have we met before?” Ryu hung his head in defeat. “Hmmm…let me fresh your memory’s. Her ‘Special guest’ two years ago.” They both stared. He was still unaware that he didn’t put his tail or ears away. “Wait…” Yuzume blinked. “…..Ryu?!”

Ryu nodded. “Oh!! It’s good to see you!! You’ve changed so much!” Hiroko reached over poking his ears. He blinked his ears twitching. “Why are yo-“ He reached up. “Uh oh….” He looked down. “I guess I should tell you….” He said softly. They brought him over to the couches. He sat down on the floor his tail swaying back and forth quickly. Ryu started explaining everything. About how he’s a cat, how he got like that, How is Kyo tied in with this….and even more. The questions never stopped. Kyo came out blinking wondering where her friends came from. “How…..!?” She looked at Ryu noticing he wasn’t hiding his ears or tail. “Ryu.” She shook her head. “Baka!” She grabbed a book throwing it at him. It hit him in the head, he fell back hitting the floor. He stayed there for a while not moving. Kyo sighed walking over to him dragging him to her room by his tail. “Ow!!” He hissed at her. “No hissing at me!” She pulled his tail. “Owwwww.” He glared at her. She shut the door with a loud Slam! Kyo explained everything. After a while Ryu heard sirens coming from outside. He blinked looking out the window. From where he was he could see police and ambulances heading east of apartment building.

He opened the door. “Kyo!! Turn on the news!!” He ran over to her. Kyo blinked. “Why?” He glared at her. “Please….” She sighed. “Fine.” She turned on the television flipping to the news. There was something about a murder somewhere near. He looked at the house. “No…..” He closed his eyes. “Kyo I’ve got to go.” She blinked. “What? Why?” He pointed to the house on the screen. “That’s Hatsumi’s house.” She blinked. “No, it can’t be, it could be some other house that looks like hers.” Ryu glared at her running out the door. He didn’t care at this point if someone saw him. When the door slammed Kyo jumped getting up going to the door.

“He really thinks it’s her house….” She closed her eyes going to the phone. She dialed the operator. “Hello, can you connect me to the Nakimoto residence please?” There was a sigh. “Don’t you know. The police are there….its on the news.” Kyo blinked. “No….” She dropped the phone going out the door down to her car parked off to the side. Ryu ran off to the side, the streets where not busy at the time so it was easy getting there. He was sprinting heading to Hatsumi’s house. The whole time he was thinking. No….this can’t be happening…… When he got there was police tape across the gate to the house. One of the police men saw him walking over to him. He was just standing there….tears streaming down his cheeks. “No…..” He fell to the hard concrete. The police man blinked kneeling down checking his pulse. “Son, did you know Ms. Nakimoto.” He nodded slowly. “Come with me.” He slowly got up going with the police man into the house. By the time Kyo, Hiroko and Yuzume came Ryu was already inside the house. There was a body bag on a stretcher by the door. When he walked in he saw blood….a lot of blood….everywhere. No!! No!! No!!! He looked around. In the living room there was a small pool of blood by a desk, where Hatsumi usually worked. He use to watch her work for hours on end. There was a trail of blood leading to the kitchen there a big pool of the dark red liquid on the cold tile. He couldn’t stand to look. “I’m…sorry.” The police man patted him on the back. Like that was going to help him. “Son, what’s your name?” He looked at him. “Your not going to find me. All your going to find is a government classified file. But my name is Ryu.” He closed his eyes. Just then there was yells outside. He looked out the open front door to see Kyo and her friends. He walked out his ears and tail drooping down a little more every time he took a step.” Kyo went under the police tape. The whole time Ryu was inside he was crying. His eyes where red even if you couldn’t see them. She hugged him tight. “Kyo….she’s gone.” He sobbed. “She’s gone….” Kyo let a few tears fall on his head. “Ryu….I’m sorry. I truly am.”
