Faith, Hope, and Love - but the greatest of these is LOVE.

I saw this book yesterday @ BI-LO & I almost never buy a book w/o reading the entire back & the first couple of pages, but I was on my break & I really didn't have time. SO... I bought it. It is really good & it is helping me calm down & realize a lot of things about what makes me tick. It is helping me see what triggers my emotional "overloads" & how I can prevent them. It's called "10 Smart Things Women Can Do to Build a Better Life" by Donna Carter. The first is making space. Our lives are so insanely cluttered that it definitely cause unnecessary stress. It's not really all the demands that make our lives so stressful - it's the lack of "negative space". Everything has to be decorated & our brains have trouble functioning w/o that dead space. Instead of saying, "8-3 is work, 3-3:30 is lunch, 3:30-4 is pick up the kids & get them home, 4-5 is laundry & supper, 5-5:20 is catch up with friends on the phone, & 5:20-? is getting the kids in bed & getting myself in bed so I can start the cycle all over again," you should say, "8-3 is work (I need to be sure to take the time to breathe and relax), I need to be @ the kid's school @ 3:20 & no later than 3:30 (a ten minute window gives a little room to stretch), I need to eat something healthy somewhere in that time frame (maybe I can pack a small lunch in the morning for work so I'm not freaking out trying to get the kids & eat), I need to get the kids home, cook supper, & do laundry all before XXX p.m., & I need to be in bed in time to get @ least 8 hours of sleep. There are so many ways to de-stress & make your life a little less hectic.
