Soulbinding/Attunement Questions
* What is soulbinding?
Soulbinding is the locking of an item to your character. This means you cannot get rid of it by selling in the Marketplace, trading, gifting, or putting it in your storage. You may sell some items back to the stores.
* Why can't I sell my rings in the Marketplace when I see a them there all the time?
On 12/08/2008, a Major Ring System Update was made.
All rings obtained ingame after this update are soulbound.
Rings obtained before this date are not soulbound until worn by a user ingame.
* Why are rings soulbound/locked/attuned now?
Ring prices were dropping too drastically and soon most people would buy their way through the game instead of playing it. Ring attunement also deals with issues of being able to buy/sell skills and levels.
* How do I tell if a ring is soulbound?
Ingame, there will be a small yellow lock on the bottom right corner of the ring icon.
In your Gaia inventory, there will also be a lock on the icon.
* Does upgrading a ring make it soulbound?
No, if it's not soulbound yet, only wearing it in zOMG will bind it.
* Can I unsoulbind a ring?
No. It's exactly what it sounds like - it's BOUND to your SOUL so it's permanent.
* What can I do with extra soulbound rings?
You can salvage them for orbs for your other rings.
* Why didn't they make a site-wide announcement for this change?
We can only speculate, but probably because zOMG is still in beta testing, and not everyone on Gaia plays the game.
* Will they remove the soulbinding in the future?

The ring attunement is here to stay, folks. Settle in and get used to it is my best advice.
The previous state of the game was an experiment in free-market skill balance. It was an experiment that failed. It will not be resumed.
However, we'll be continuing to make the game better and better (we are doing that even now)...so don't give up and quit just because you can't make ridiculous amounts of gold in the marketplace from farming this game anymore.
If the only reason you're playing this game is to capitalize on marketplace pressures, then this is the wrong game for you. This is an entertainment product that will promote more and more socialization over time and let people make friends while they play. It's not intended as a gold-producing vehicle and we'll continue to seal off things that promote farming or exploitative use of mule accounts.
