I never really understood when people said they really enjoyed a movie, but they didn't want to see it again or they wouldn't buy it; however, this movie made me comprehend what they were saying.
It was a truly wonderful movie. Three hours of WONDERFUL. It did present an interesting case, and it actually had a plot. WOW, that is something you don't see often in today's movies!
There was mystery, hate, shame, discovery, love, humor, bitterness, pain, suffering, loss, sacrifice, and all the elements you expect to find in a life story. They were all presented in a brilliant masterpiece of a film in an acceptable time manner.
I have two regrets pertaining to this movie:
1) The beginning was VERY slow - I know this movie needed time to develop, but it took too long for it to get rolling at the beginning.
2) They let him "age" too far at the end - (I will not go into detail here for those that have not seen it because it would ruin it!) it should have ended sooner somehow.
This is a movie I would buy, but only so others I know would have the enjoyment of watching it.
In spite of the two apparent flaws I see in this movie, I still give it 5 stars, two thumbs way up, or whatever the highest ranking is on your scale!
