Maybe my life needs some reflection. So many things have happened. Who is fair to say, that everything has changed? When you go to a new place, everything is bizarre, and frightening no matter who you are; of course it can be exciting and liberating. But there is also the fear of the unknown. And the fear that everyone and everything you left will forget you. They will keep moving on without you, yes; you cannot expect people to go on as if you were still living there. Not even your own family, or your friends from school or your old employers from work. The swing sets you used to play on, or the usual place you used to hang out at. Will your presence be forgotten? And will someone else come to love those places like you have? Will they value the memories that took place there?

There is no way to safely answer these questions.


But one lesson I have come to learn, is that when you leave the place you loved so well, there is another waiting for you. It might not be as familiar. You may not know anyone, or anythign or how to get to simple places you knew in your old hometown like the back of your hand. But somewhere, shining beyond the horizon-if you can get past the rigid and lonesome feeling your heart carries- there is a new swing set waiting. A new family, new friends, new employers and coworkers. A new usual place. It might be hard, and it won’t be easy. But all good things come just before dawn.
