It was a dark, cold, stormy Halloween day. There weren’t many kids at Rockingstone Heights because of the storm warnings. Katlynn, Sam, Krissy, and Chris were the only kids in Ms. Gillard’s class that bothered to come to school. Desiree and TJ from the other class, Gary, Skyler, Deanna, and Chantel from the grade 9 class, and Spencer, the only grade 7, joined Ms. Gillard’s class for the day. Katlynn sat curled up in the corner reading a book in a dim light. Krissy, Spencer, Skyler, Chris and Gary sat around a table laughing and joking around. Sam, Deanna, and Chantel sat in “The cave”. TJ was bouncing a basketball near Katlynn and saying “Whatcha reading?” repeatedly, and Desiree wasn’t anywhere to be found. “TJ, SHUT UP!” Katlynn screamed, putting down her book. Her voice echoed through the room and everyone turned to look at her. She stormed out of the room, cursing. “Whoa, TJ, You set her off!” Gary said after Katlynn had left the room. “I heard that!” Katlynn’s voice echoed from the hallway. Gary jumped and everyone laughed. A few minutes went past, then Katlynn ran back, half crying, and screaming. Gary shot up right away and ran to her. “Katlynn! What’s wrong!?” He asked franticly.
“D-D-Desiree is d-dead!!” Katlynn stammered. “How’d she die?” Sam asked coming out of the cave, pale as a ghost. “I don’t know! She was just laying there in a pool of blood, all cut open!” Katlynn replied, crying. Chantel came out of the cave. “Anyone see Deanna?” She asked. Krissy jumped up. “Oh god, we’re all gonna die!” She whispered. Spencer pulled her down onto his lap and tried to calm her down. Katlynn had stopped crying and went over to Skyler. He sat, and was munching on an apple. “I need your help.” Katlynn said. He didn’t say anything. “There’s a killer on the loose and you’re the biggest and strongest.” She continued, crossing her arms. “Besides, Deanna is gone, and if I’m correct Chantel will be next.” She added. Chantel squeaked, and Skyler tossed his apple in the rubbish bin. “Fine. I’m in.” He said. Chantel ran over to Katlynn and shook her. “What do you mean I’m next!?” She yelled. Katlynn shrugged. “It always happens that way in movies, so more than likely your next.” Katlynn said calmly. Krissy tried to leave the room. “Hey! Don’t leave the room without someone with you!” Sam yelled, running towards her. They both left the room. Chris stood up. “Hey, did you all forget I’m here?!” He said. Everyone turned to him. “Yeah, basically.” Said Spencer.
