AIRDRIE - A man severely injured in an Airdrie house fire that killed his girlfriend has died in hospital.
Daniel Longard, 21, died in Foothills hospital Friday night, following a fire that ripped through a mobile home in the Airdrie Trailer Courts at about 6 a.m.
His 21-year-old girlfriend died inside the trailer. Authorities are withholding the woman's name until the medical examiner can positively identify her.
Two other residents of the trailer, 34-year-old Sherri Michaud and her three-year-old daughter Adriana, escaped the fire thanks to a smoke detector that woke them up.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined, but investigators don't believe it was suspicious.
