Chapter 4- The Threat Is Real
Authors Note: "EX" is pronounced "Ee-ex", not "X"
Seo walked out of the school and sat down on the steps. "Expulsion..." he thought. He was bewildered at the very THOUGHT of it. He stood up suddenly as a thought come to his mind..."What the hell am I gonna tell MOM?!" he thought. He grimaced as he remembered what happened when he'd failed his last test. Beatings and no food...that was truly hell..Seo groaned and started the walk home, trying to move slowly. Seo heard a noise. Then he heard something much more interesting. It was the voice. It was yelling...What was it saying..? Seo stopped and put his hand on his head to think..He figured it out at exactly the wrong second.."DUCK!!!" It had been screaming. Seo took a hard blow to the back of the head and toppled over. He lay sprawled out on the ground, groaning. Seo struggled to his feet and rubbed the back of his head. He clenched his teeth. "Okay, who the hell was that?!" He yelled as he looked up. He was incredibly surprised to see Echin staring back at him.
"ECHIN?!" Seo shouted. No...he did not look the same. The Echin before had flat black hair with a button down shirt and jeans. This one..only the face reminded Seo of Echin at all. His hair was spiked, as if it was surging with energy. He seemed to have a spiked shoulder pad on one side, and was wearing a black jumpsuit with gray boots and gloves. Gray streaks connected the gloves and boots to his chest, in which lay...a green stone...Seo stared at the stone in the chest and thought back to when he had transformed. "Seo..." Echin began, "You have entered the initiation battle...and now you must be destroyed...just like the others..." Seo gasped. "Others?!" Echin smirked. "But of course. Many were attempting for this position." Seo stared at Echin confused. "...Position?" He asked slowly. Echin glared and yelled "Don't you play dumb with me Seo! I saw your EX Crystal!" Now Seo was REALLY confused. "EX Crystal...What the Hell is that?!" Seo blurted back. Echin growled and rushed at Seo. Seo smirked, he'd seen this kid fight, and his hand-to-hand was a JOKE...Seo's smirk dissipated as he saw a ball of wind being gathered in Echin's hand. "That doesn't look too good..." Seo thought. Seo braced for the impact just before it happened. It was much worse than he'd expected. The wind was sharp. It cut up his arms and tore his shirt. Sigh panted. That one block had exhausted him. "You..b*****d..." he said. "This was my favorite shirt!" Seo ran to Echin and punched him the chest, near the stone. He quickly reeled back in pain. "Only EX Weapons can do damage in battles like this!" Echin shouted. "I feel sorry for you Seo, now that you're involved I'll have to kill your mother as well...." he continued. That was it. That was too much. "Mom may be useless...but I love her!" Seo shouted. "And I won't let you TOUCH her!!" Instinct took over. Seo reached into his right pocket and pulled out the pebble. Seo flicked it into the air and caught it with his left hand. As the unfamiliar glow began to overtake his body, Seo yelled again; "And now I can stop you...I have the will of a hero!"
The light, as well as the pain, vanished, and Seo returned to the form from earlier. His shirt was torn from before..but that didn't matter. Seo's anger was flaring! And it was all pointed at Echin. Seo yelled in pure rage and the ground underneath him shook. Seo heard the voice. "Congratulations. This form is now yours. And now I leave you- for you to find your own destiny." Seo understood..with this power..with this strength...he would carve his own path in the world! And he would start with Echin! Echin was sweating as he glared at Seo. "The EX Rider...there's no way that SEO is him...!" he was thinking."I'LL KILL YOU!!!" Seo shouted. He began to run at Echin again. "Memorized Technique!" Seo shouted. "Blade of Light!!" Seo's hand glowed and a sword quickly took shape. Seo jumped into the air. "SHINE CRUSH!" Seo yelled as he brought the sword down on Echin. Seo had clenched his eyes and teeth, for he did not want to hear the impact. It did not come. Instead he heard a crunch as his blade hit the concrete underneath him. Echin had quickly moved to the right. Almost as fast as the wind itself. Seo brought his sword up quickly and cut to the right. Echin was not there anymore. Multiple times Seo attacked Echin, and he always dodged. Seo slouched down and glared at Echin, panting. Echin laughed. "You are not the EX Rider..you cannot even keep up with me, the EX Warrior of the Wind!" Seo yelled and rushed at him again. "If you can't keep up, let's see how strong you really are!" Echin yelled. Echin formed another ball of wind in both of his hands and molded it together into a blade of pure air. "Air Cutter! Let us strike him down!" he yelled as he began to run at Seo. The two warriors rushed at each other, each preparing to put all their remaining energy into the next attack, each expecting to win.
