Jake-Leader of the boys. Plans all pranks.
Peter-Jake’s younger brother. The guy with the rudest humor.
Will summer be fun in the sun? Not for these five friends. Shocks as new neighbors move in. What will happen when two sets twins move in? With theses friends anything can happen.
As Mandy and Jake all work problems in their math books they're impatiently waiting to get out of school. Yes summer vacation was here. Out of nowhere the bell rang. Everyone rushed out to get to the fun of summer. "So what are you guys doing for summer?" asked Jake. "Don’t know yet," said Ruth. "Did you know we are getting new neighbors?" "No, who is moving?" asked Peter. "I heard the Benson's were moving." chimed in Mandy. As the friends walked home they saw the new family had arrived. The mother and father were already unloading the car when two girls stepped out. They were twins and looked about their age. When they thought the car was empty two boys stepped out. They were twins also the same age too. "Wow a double hitter!" exclaimed Jake. They all meet each other and asked if the twins would like to hang out some time.
A few days later Serena and Renee had met up with the girls. "Must be hard for you to leave your friends in Georgia.." said Mandy. "Yeah and since we moved in the summer we don't get to be in school." said Serena. Do you miss being in Georgia?" asked Ruth. "Obviously Ruth," said Mandy." "No, its okay we miss Georgia just being there would be the world to us."said Renee. "We might want to fill you in about what happens here in Pepperell." started Mandy. "What do you mean by that?"asked Serena. "Well you met Jake and Peter the other day," Ruth told. The both nodded their heads. "I am going out with Peter but they still play pranks on us." finished Mandy. "Our brothers play pranks on us all the time," said Serena. "What if they team up to ruin our summer?"asked Mandy. "They won't ruin our summer because Serena and I are invincible." "Well you haven't met Jake and Peter." "They are so bad with the pranks.”
The next day the nine friends went to the mall."So you guys know what you are doing this summer?" asked Jeremy. "Not really anything to do around here," said Peter. "Your sisters, Ruth and I were thinking of having a sleepover one night." said Mandy. Jeremy looked at Kevin, Kevin looked at Jake and Jake looked at Peter. The boys knew what they were going to do this summer.
The next day the twins went over Jake’s house. "Well we know that they are having a sleepover," said Peter. "We just need to know when it is." finished Jake. As they guys thought out of nowhere Kevin got an idea. "We could ask the girls if they want us to come to have a little party then we pull the prank."
The boys didn't know the girls were just around the corner spying on them. Saturday everyone was hanging out when Jeremy sprang up with the question. "So when are you girls having your sleepover?" "Next Saturday why?" asked Mandy. "Oh just wondering if we could come over and have a little party with you girls." answered Kevin. "We would love for you to come but there isn't enough room for you guys in our tent only we can fit in it." said Ruth. "We could bring our own tent," "Wait a sec." As the girls talked it over the boys knew the girls would let them come. "Fine I guess we can let you guys come." said Serena. That moment after Serena said that was silent then everyone had a grin on their face.
The next week after that was hectic for both boys and girls. The boys had no idea what they were going to do to the girls. And the girls needed something to do to the boys. Neither of them could think of anything until the Friday before the party.
"Okay this is what we do when the girls fall asleep we take one thing of theirs that they would always need and then the blackmail begins." explained Jeremy. "Where will we hide the stuff?" asked Jake. "One of us will have to bring a bag."said Kevin.
The girls on the other hand were stumped. "Why cant we think of anything to pull on the guys?" asked Ruth. "Maybe we are just not enough anymore," said Mandy. "Don't say that we just need to keep at it and really think of something." said Renee cheerfully. The girls thought and thought but couldnt get anything.
Saturday came and the girls were already set up when the boys got there. It was 6:30 and the sun was just setting. "We should watch the sun set in the yard." suggested Serena. They all ran to the backyard and sat down on a blanket that Mandy lain out . At about quarter to eight the both girls and boys got into their tents. When the girls got in they started to think more about what they should do to the boys. "Why is it so quiet? The guys couldn’t have fallen asleep that fast."said Ruth. "Yeah they are quiet too quiet." said Mandy.
Soon it was really quiet everyone was asleep except the boys. "Okay I think everyone is asleep lets go," whispered Jake. There came a light snore. It was Peter sound asleep. "Peter! Peter! WAKE UP!" yelled Kevin quietly. "What is it time?" asked Peter half asleep. "Yes now come on everyone is out of the tent already."
As the boys crept quietly over to the girls tent Renee had woken up to the sound of their footsteps. She didn't know why they were coming over here but she saw they were in the tent. She decided they were pulling a prank so she just closed her eyes to make it look as if she was sleeping. "We need to be quiet," someone had said. Then Renee felt a cold hand on her arm and she remembered her lucky rubber band. They must be doing this prank just on me. thought Renee. But as the shadows moved throughout the tent she saw that they took something from every girl.
As soon as the guys got out of the tent Renee got up and went after them. "I knew there was a reason you guys wanted to come," yelled Renee. "Renee we didn't know you were up,"said Jeremy. "Give me back the stuff." "We will make you a deal," "We will give you back your lucky rubber band back, but you need to do whatever we want for the rest of the summer." explained Kevin. "Never!"said Renee. "Then I guess you wont get anything back, unless you do what we say for the rest of summer." "That's actually not fair how can I serve four guys at once." said Renee. "Renee we are going to be hanging out all summer together." said Kevin. "Fine, we better go to bed before anyone else wakes up." said Renee.
The next day Serena and Renee are waken up by a knock on their door. "Come in," yelled Serena still under her blankets. "Renee can we speak with you alone." said Jeremy. "Sure just let me get dressed." Renee replied. After a few minutes Renee came out with her hair up wearing a tee shirt and shorts. "Ready to go to Jake's house?" asked Kevin. "I guess so." said Renee with a groan. When they arrived at Jake's house they sat down in his room and discussed what she had to do today. "All we need you to do is write the ransoms to each girl." explained Peter. "One Serena will notice my writing and Two what if Ruth or Mandy ask if it is my writing or Serena's writing." said Renee. "Fine we will write the one to Serena." said Jake. "Okay but I need to know what you took and I need my rubber band back." "You do have it don't you?"asked Renee. "I had it in my bag then gave it to Jake,"said Peter. "I gave it to Kevin" "I gave it to Jeremy last night." Everyone turned and looked at Jeremy. He started to turn red in the face. "Jeremy do you have it?" asked Renee. "Hehe funny story last night when Kevin gave me your rubber band I put it on my bureau and this morning it was gone."explained Jeremy. "You lost it!" yelled Renee. "Renee you need to calm down so we can try to know where it may be."said Kevin. "The deal is off! I am never speaking to you guys again." shouted Renee as she ran off crying.
As she ran through the door she surprised Ruth, Mandy and Serena. "I'll be right back," said Serena.
She tried to open the door but it was locked. "Renee can I come in?" asked Serena. "Sorry about that Serena," said Renee still crying. "What happened?" "Our brothers that what happened, I guess I can tell you now." replied Renee. "The night we all slept over Mandy's house the guys snuck out of their tent and now they have one thing from every girl," "I was up and I tried to get the stuff back but they wouldn't unless I did anything they wanted for the rest of the summer. Serena was shocked she couldn’t even blink. "Go on," Serena managed to get out. "When they told me what to do today Jeremy told me that he had my lucky rubber band and lost it when he put it on his bureau last night." Renee finished. "I am going to talk to them when the get home." said Serena. "Thanks but no thanks they know what they did and need to deal with it themselves." said Renee.
As the sisters walked down to the living room they saw their brothers with Jake and Peter. "Renee we are really sorry..." said Jake. "What happened?" asked Mandy. As the boys started to explain Renee jumped in adding a few comments of what had happened also. "So where is our stuff?" asked Mandy. "At my house," said Peter.
As the friends walked to Peter's house the girls were talking about how Renee forgave the guys but how she would never talk to them again. "Here we are really sorry for what we have done." said Peter.
"Peter can I speak to you alone for a minute," asked Mandy. "What's up Mandy?" "I think we should stop dating and just be friends." "What do you mean?" asked Peter. "It is just you guys are still playing stupid pranks on us and I cant take it any more." replied Mandy. "I'm sorry but we can still be friends." “Yeah that would be good” said Peter. “We are really sorry Renee please just speak to us.” “Not until you find my lucky rubber band.” “Ha! you just spoke to us.” “I was answering a question.” “Fine.”
The next couple of days were quiet till Friday. “Renee!” “What Jeremy?” “Guess what.” “What?” “I found your lucky rubber band!” “OHMYGOSH! Your kidding Jeremy!?” “No I’m not I found it when Kevin and I were cleaning our room.” “Where was it?” “Surprisingly it was behind my bureau.” “Oh my gosh thanks Jeremy you’re the best!” “So you will talk to me and the rest of the guys now?” “Yes.” “Good because I have a question from Jake.” “Yeah.” “Would you like to go out with him?” “Oh um wow this is so sudden.” “ If you don’t want to all you need to do is say no.” “Well let me think about then I’ll tell you and you can tell Jake okay?” “Okay” “Oh and Jeremy thanks again for finding my rubber band.” “No problem.”
All the girls met up at the mall that day. “Guess what guys.” “What?” “Well I got my rubber band back today and Jeremy told me something.” “WHAT?” “Jeremy told me Jake had a question for me.” “Yeah.” “Jake wants to be my boyfriend.” “OMG! Really!?” “Yes. I’m surprised too. Should I tell him no or yes?” “Its your choice.” “Yeah but I don’t want what happened with Mandy and Peter to happen to me and Jake. No offense Mandy” “None taken. But Jake is more mature than Peter. So why not date him?” “Well.... ok I’m going to do it!”
The next day Renee told Jeremy to tell Jake she would go out with him. “Cool. I was just going to call Jake anyway.” “Hey Jeremy.” “Jake I have news for you,” “She said yes?” “Yes!” “Good can you and Kevin come over?” “Yeah ok see you then” “Kev we need to go to Jake’s house. “Why?” “We have another prank coming up,” “Sweet lets go!” “We’re going to Jake’s be back later.” “Bye.”
“Serena do you think what happened to Mandy could happen to me.” “Well if the guys are going over Jake’s house there is a 50/50 chance it will happen.” “I’m gonna go for a walk.” “You aren’t going for a walk to Jake’s are you? Cause of you are I wanna come. No spying without me you know that Renee.” “Sorry Serena I forgot.” “We gotta be quiet though his window is open.”
Quietly the twin crept across the lawn till they were under Jake’s bedroom window. “Ok this is what’s going on. Peter Jeremy and Kevin you will ask the girls to hang out tomorrow night. And I will ask Renee to hang out with you guys. Ok so were does the prank come in. I was coming to that Peter. Then I’ll say I need to go to the bathroom. Outside on Jeremy and Kevin’s window sill we will have a bucket of ice water that is sitting on the window sill and I need to go upstairs to go to the bathroom so I’ll dump the water down on them. How will we get the girls outside though? You guys will say they should go look at the stars. But you guys need to be a few feet away so you don’t get hit by the water. Ok. Lets do it.”
“Can I close your window Jake?” “Sure Peter,” As he was closing the window Peter noticed the girls sitting there. “ Well who do we have here?” Jake Jeremy and Kevin all ran to the window. “How much did you guys hear?” said Jeremy “Everything up to sure Peter.” “Man now we gotta... actually since you girls heard everything I want you two to come up here in my room.” “Yeah right we are never coming up there.” Oh yeah.”
Jake whispered to Peter and Jeremy to go down stairs quietly and get them. But the girls already started running for home. “They locked the door!” “Don’t worry Peter I have my key.” “Guys come on Jake just wants to talk to you we aren’t going to do anything bad.” said Jeremy. “We cant believe you Jeremy!” the girls screamed from their room. “Who will you believe?” asked Peter. “Kevin.” “Fine I’ll call him at Jake’s.” “Kevin our dramatic sisters wont come out of their room can you tell them we just want to talk and not do anything drastic.” “Sure give Renee the phone,” “Renee we just need to have a talk with you guys and that is all I swear.” “Promise?” “Promise” “Fine we will come over with Jeremy and Peter.”
Few minutes later the girls were sitting on Jake’s bed. “You two are so sneaky! We just need some time to ourselves! Cant you two just...” “We’re sorry” “Sorry doesn’t cut it” “Oh so it did when you guys stole our stuff?” “That’s way different Serena!” “How!?” “Whatever we just really need you two to trust us when we say we are going somewhere and not sneak around hearing every word we say.” Jake said angrily. “We just...” “What?”
“Jake calm down.” said Kevin. “Kevin how would you feel if this happened to you!?” “It has! Back it Georgia. Jeremy and I were talking one day about a prank and they were right outside our door.” “And he stayed calm about it while I was yelling so don’t tell him how he would feel.” said Jeremy. “Im sorry Kevin.” “Its okay but I do think you are being hard on them,” “Im sorry Serena, Renee will you two forgive me?” “I don’t know Jake you were a little over the top there.”said Serena. “I forgive you Jake,”said Renee. “Renee!” “What!?” “We are supposed to stick together remember. No holding back.” “I’m sorry Serena but I just can’t say no.”
Shocked as she was Serena walked right out the door. “She is mad now.” “She’ll get over it she always does,” “Just like last year with the soda explosion.” “That was so funny.”
The next couple of days Serena wouldn’t even look at Renee. Not even if they were in their room together. “Serena what do I have to do to have you talk to me again? I miss the sound of your voice.” “Break up with Jake.” “But Serena...” “That is the one thing I need from you.” “Fine I’ll tell him it just isn’t working out.”
“Hey Jake.” “Hey Renee. What’s wrong you sound sad?” “Serena said if I every want her to talk to me I have to break up with you.” “What!? She cant do that. Can she?” “I don’t know.” “But you know what I really don’t think this is going to work out I’m sorry Jake.” “It’s okay. And when you see your brothers can you tell them to come over?” “Sure bye.” “Jeremy, Kevin, Jake wants you to go over his house.” “Okay.”
Later that night Jeremy and Kevin asked the twins to come in their room. “What’s going on?” asked Serena. “We wanna have a truce with you girls.” “A truce? With you guys yeah right that wont happen you guys will need to pull a prank in less than a week.” “You wanna make a bet on that?” asked Jeremy. “Jeremy you know they will win.”said Kevin. “True but I bet we could go longer than you two could. No pranks for a whole week. Whoever wins gets the others allowance.” “Jeremy they will win for sure I know you. You can go a day with out a prank but a week.” “We will make it Kev. Trust me we will.” “Good luck guys. Goodnight.”
The next day Mandy and Ruth came over. “Hello ladies.” said Jeremy. “What’s wrong with him?” asked Ruth. “We made a bet that either of us couldn’t go without pulling a prank for a whole week and he is just trying to be a suck up.” explained Renee. “So not true Renee!” “Of course he is listening in.” “ Hey you two listened in on us the other day.” “Jeremy don’t bring that up again. Please?” “Fine. But I think you should tell them what happened or I will end up telling them.” “Go right on ahead and tell them. Where is Kev?” “Upstairs listening to music.” “Oh,” “Why? You wanna pull a prank on him?” “No I just thought he could help you tell the story and I’m not falling for that Jeremy.”
“Man. Ok I’ll start the story now. No interruptions. Kevin and I went over to Jake’s house and we didn’t know but my sneaky sisters snuck over and hide under Jake’s bedroom window and listened in on our whole conversation which consisted of a prank we were going to pull on you. But when Peter got up to close the window he noticed them sitting there. They ran home hide in their room and wouldn’t come out. So I had to call Kevin and have him to talk to our sisters because they didn’t believe me. So they finally came out and we walked back to Jake’s. Once we sat down he started getting mad at them they almost cried.” “Not true.” “So true. Anyway when Kevin told Jake to calm down Jake told Kevin how he would feel and Kevin told Jake about how it did happen. Then Jake apologized to Kevin Renee and Serena. But he asked Renee and Serena if they would forgive him and Renee said yes then Serena flipped at Renee. Im done”
“Wow! That was weird.” said Mandy. “You can say that again” said Kevin. “Were you there the whole time Kev?” asked Renee. “Hey you two aren’t the only sneaky ones in this house.” “Have you done that before?” “Yeah loads of times.” “Like when? Like when you are on the phone with your friends. Oh my gosh yeah I know he is so cute.” Kevin imitated his sisters. “Kevin!” “Hey it is not my fault you guys are so loud when talking on the phone. How else do you think I figure out who you like before Jeremy?” “Kevin Adam!” “Oh no ah!” “So what’s up guys?” asked Jeremy sliding on to the couch. “Nothing really. Is he going to be okay?” “Yeah they won’t hurt him too badly.” “We should call Jake and Peter and tell them to come over,” “They would enjoy this.” “No lets just let them tell him not to do it again and go on with our lives.”said Jeremy
