I've always been good at writing. Every teacher I've had to write an essay for always complimented me on how "creative" and "well written" each story/essay I've written was. I kept blowing it off thinking that they were just saying that because they were my teachers. Turns out, it wasn't.
I remember my 10th grade english student teacher (I'm now in 11th grade), Ms. Black, seemed to like me from the start. I'm not sure why, but she seemed to ask me how my day was going and the latest news on the Patriots was. Anyway, she had us do some writing assignment about symbolism, i.e. National bird, emblems, etc., and had us share our work. All I could think about was how lame this was going to be. I was right, it was lame. Not because of the assignment, but because my classmates writing skills were lacking a ton of skill. My story pwned (Inner gamer speaking) theirs.
I had better examples, grammar, and format. I remember Ms. Black telling me that I had a lot of potential as a writer. I blew it off. Not directly at her, that would have been just rude, especially since she liked me so much. It wasn't till the end of the year that my regular teacher, Mrs. Barker, said something to me. She also said that I had a lot of potential as a writer. Shortly after Mrs. Allen, my amazingly hot 8th grade english teacher, told me that I was very smart in english, and she enjoyed my writing.
After that complements just kept coming, from both piers and adults. I tried posting something in the writing forum on Gaia earlier this month, but that got shot down considering Gaians didn't even look at my topic. It sucked, sure I could have just let it sit there but I'm stubborn and decided that I'm not going to let it die that easily. Thus my idea of starting a short series, in my Gaian journal, was born.
