I lay awake
For God’s sake
Why can’t I sleep?
I haven’t made a peep
Turns over in distress
Lay me to rest
Closes eyes
All I see is your goodbyes
Memories swim in my head
All the things I’ve left un-said…
Inside I squirm
When will I learn?
Sitting up I face the door
If only my heart didn’t desire more
Lingering among the shadows
Long forgotten sorrows
When will you come home?
