today begins the manhunt. my clan is trying to capture a known rebel thief. Ichigo Hanbun. that is the name we were given. this would be a simple task if he were unprotected. Hanbun had gathered many way ward outcast from almost the entire country... their ranks were large and many of them had skills that stemmed from the traditions of their village... it is doubtful that Ichigo was unarmed... how ever i hear his combat skills are weak and he himself could not sustain him self in a battle. his skills of deceit and hiding were top notch though.... he has been known to break into high security prisons just to pass messages to superior leaders that have been incarcerated for doing what he hasn't been caught for... he was a cunning and clever individual.
my task was to distract the main guards so that others in my squad could seek out ichigo themselves. my task was a small one, for i had no doubt that i could dispatch of the guards with no struggle. we had no accurate numbers on how many would be protecting him, thus i had a back up just in case.i didn't know who my backup would be. none of us knew which individual ninja did what. we all only knew our job. that is the code of secrecy bestowed upon every ninja in our clan... we trusted one another. i travelled to the eastern side of their lair. it lay on the edge of the blue ridge mountains... over looking a swamp. many people perished in that hole of death. none of the casualties were ever ninjas. travelling through the marsh i noticed that the animals were just returning to their normal tasks, which meant they were just recently disturbed into hiding. someone had just past. i was catching up.
after 15 minutes of travel i precariously approached a troop of soldiers. or so it seemed at first. their uniform was not all up to date. their weapons dull and battle worn... i have stumbled upon the first enemy. these were ichigo's grunts. there was no need to engage with them... i stayed away.... following closely... they approached the camp and i decided to lay low for that day...
