Chapter 2- Repercussions
Seo yelled out in shock. The glow from the bracelet had quickly turned into a bright light and consumed his hand. "This is just like my dream!!" Seo screamed. The light moved quickly, eating up his arm and torso. He felt a burning sensation all throughout his body. In a few seconds his body relaxed. His body was shining with a yellow light. His head remained uncovered as Seo began to breath less rapidly. The light had stopped moving and Seo became less tense. The light moved quickly once he dropped his guard. The light moved up his neck and consumed his entire head before Seo could blink again. Seo screamed. The pain was almost too much to bear. Then it stopped. All the pain vanished and he stood up as if it had never been there. Seo put his left hand to his forehead to see if the heat of the day had made him delerious. Seo's eyes widened when he felt the touch of his left hand. The bracelet was no longer there.
Seo gasped. He pulled up the sleeve of his hoodie and paused. He rolled the sleeve back down and stared at it. Seo had put on another red hoodie this morning. The hoodie he was wearing was black. No, it was white, but the sleeves were black. Seo looked down to examine himself further. His pants had been changed from his favorite jeans into a new white pair of pants. The pants were loose enough to run in, but tight enough near the waist to not cause any problems. They had black streaks running down the sides of them. His shoes had stayed the same though. Most shocking was probably his hair. Whatever the light had done, his dye had obviously messed it up. His hair was back to it's regular blonde color, but with black streaks running through it. Seo put his hands on his stomach and almost threw up every one of his organs. The pebble had grown to the size of a large rock. It was embeded in the center of his chest, glowing vibrantly. Seo looked up to avoid looking at the new him. "Man," he said, "today is NOT starting out very well...." He was not shocked to know that his voice had changed as well, it was deeper and sounded more....powerfull.
Seo felt a presence behind him and quickly turned around. It was someone he had never met before. The man wore a ski mask and was holding up a knife. "Hey kid," the man said, "howsabout you give me your wallet and we go about our business, eh?" Seo glared at the man, and began speaking in his awesome new voice. "Or, howsabout you surrender now and I won't turn you in?" Seo said mockingly. The man growled. "You wanna be smart kid? Fine, I'll make you dead!" The man ripped off his mask, revealing a tattoo on his bald head, signaling him as being a member of a city-wide gang. The man then charged at Seo. When Seo was about two feet away from the man, Seo jumped. He was planning to jump up and kick the knife out of the man's hand. Instead, he jumped into the air and stayed there. The man missed completely, and turned around to see where Seo was. The man looked up, and realised what was going on at about the same time Seo did. He was flying!!! Seo smirked. With his newfound power, Seo glided around the man in circles, not caring what the man was doing. The man eventually noticed Seo was paying no attention to him, and used this to his advantage. The man pulled out a gun, and took aim at Seo. Seo apparently had new heightened senses, as he heard the gun being cocked to fire. Seo turned just in time to see the man pull the trigger and Seo crossed his arms in front of him to soften the impact. Shockingly, the impact never came! Seo opened his eyes and put his arms down. He was somehow now holding a sword in his right hands. However, a couple things were strange about it. One, the sword was seemingly made of light. Second, the light was holding the bullet that had just been fired from the pistol. Seo stared at the sword in shock and awe. After what seemed like a lifetime, Seo tore his eyes away from the sword and looked back at the man. He was gone. He must have fled in fear when the sword appeared. Seo glided down to the ground. Once his feet touched the ground, he heard a voice in his head. It was a calm and gentle female voice. It said, "Subspace." Seo looked around frantically for the owner of the voice, but it did not speak. He sighed.
Checking his watch, Seo saw that it was 6:58! Seo began to panic, but soon realised that with his new powers, flying to school within two minutes would be easy! Suddenly, he felt the glow again. This time, instead of originating from the bracelet, it was originating from the stone in his chest. He groaned as he figured out that he was reverting back to normal. When the transformation ended, Seo fell to his knees. "I'm doomed...." Seo said. Seo stood back up with unseen speed when he heard the voice again. "With the will of a hero, one can activate and control the gem.." the voice became silent. Seo yelled out , "How do I use it?!" Seo waited for a response, but there was none. Sighing, Seo began the slow walk to the school.
