This one was random and inconsistent, I am really having trouble focusing these days...
Adorn my head with the sacred jewelry.
Darken my life lines with deep mehindi.
Cover my hands, neck and feet,
With ceremonial jewelry.
Cover my face with the wedding shawl,
For I do not wish to see the face,
Of my beloved.
My sari of silk,
Embellished with gold sequences,
Shaped in patterns,
All my acceptance,
Echoing,
As my head hangs,
In humble silence,
A loyal daughter,
To religion and traditions abiding.
Silence is golden,
Acceptance is in silence.
A shy smile,
A deep blush,
Lowered eyes,
Somehow sums up acceptance.
To a life of no choice,
Just silent consent,
No questions,
No answers,
Just demands, orders to be met.
The deep lines of mehindi,
Washed away with the passion,
Replaced by fear.
We make mistakes,
We learn from them,
But there is really no 'we',
Just silence and consent.
Stone cold eyes,
Still lowered,
Shy smile,
Just plastered,
The deep blush,
No longer visible,
Instead replaced my frown lines,
And signs of worry,
From sleepless nights,
And horrors that fail fade.
A blushing bride,
Has now lost her flare,
And her innocence,
To another day.
