The Sunshine Ain’t Coming Home
The sun set out on the plain
The beginning of another day
Like seconds in a clockwork tower
Just dreams that float away
Because no one can catch a kite
When the strings are already gone
Her melody was half as sweet
Oh, why is it so hard to fly
When you just can’t help but try?
No one knows why
And I can’t help but cry
The moon was harvesting grain
When he dared to fish for lucky things
It’s a tragedy he fell asleep
But the bell didn’t ring
His thoughts were a waste of my time
But it made his song exciting
Except that no one would listen
Oh, why is it so hard to fly
When you just can’t help but try?
No one knows why
And I can’t help but cry
If you loved my cry
You’d save the sky
Couldn’t you wonder why
I knew how to fly
Oh, I need more time
To help find my life
You wouldn’t even help me
So I wouldn’t even look at her
Because she didn’t want me
No one knows why
And I can’t help but cry
Could you teach me to fly?
