Short Story
(Eh, a little Gaia fanfict I made.)
Cherry blossoms rained down from the heavens like silken tears of the gods giving the area a mythical preset. The battle had begun in the middle of the night and is now weighing heavily on both sides of the conflict. Many had already fallen, their cold lifeless bodies lay were their last blow was struck. Though the casualties ranked high in the thousands for both sides, neither of them would submit and they would push even harder against their rival. Even if fatigued, the earth trembled beneath the warriors of the Yamakosei and Chyaku Norisu Clan as they fought for their Lord's honor.
Lord Aurrik of the Yamakosei fought his way through the mass of bodies. His sword cut cleanly through flesh, leather and metal alike. He was virtually unstoppable as he swept through the battle like death itself. But little did the hero know that another warrior awaited him. This one had watched as Aurrik cut his way to him from the other side of the field and merely frowned upon the eastern warrior for causing so much death to his people. Aurrik made one clean swipe and three more warriors fell before their beloved leader.
"Surrender Chyaku Norisu! Your lands now belong to the Yamakosei Clan!" Aurrik yelled out to his rival commander. "Submit or I shall take the pleasure of claiming your head!"
Lord Norisu frowned at Aurrik. For a moment their eyes met and Aurrik couldn't help but stare. Those eyes, he'd never seen anything like them. He dropped his guard momentarily as he looked in them. They look....so peaceful...as if they hold the world in them, Aurrik thought to himself. As he sat there in a dreamlike state a rough, masculine voice shook him to the very core.
"Violence is my last option, Lord of the Yamakosei," Chyaku Norisu spoke in his soothing, yet earth shattering voice.
Aurrik regained his stance and shook his head, trying to recover from his daydream. He held his sword in a defensive stance and glared at his rival. "I see through your ploys, Norisu! I will not falter!"
"Men are like steel, Aurrik. When they lose their temper, they lose their worth," Norisu spoke once more in his extremely masculine voice.
Once more Aurrik shook his head. "Your attempt to get into my head fails you. If you will not submit to my rule, Norisu. Then you will die!" The Lord of the Yamakosei turned his blade up and began to run towards the Warlord. As if on queue, Norisu lept into the air. Aurrik stopped in his tracks as Norisu flew into the air. He had managed to gain several feet above the frozen Aurrik. He was helpless as he stood in awe. Norisu descended, as if descending from the heavens and Aurrik could have sworn he heard angels sing in an immaculate chorus. Chyaku Norisu swung his leg back as he fell to the earth. When the other commander was within striking range, he kicked the frozen Aurrik hard in the chest. Aurrik spun as he soared through the air and let out what remained of his air after he had struck the ground.
The defeated Lord of the Yamakosei lay there, clutching his chest. He lay there gasping for even the smallest bit of air. He barely managed to lift himself on to his elbows. With one kick, it felt like every bone in his body had been crushed. Blood trickled from his mouth as he looked at Chyaku with one good eye. Before succumbing to the darkness, Aurrik gathered enough strength to call out one last message. "I will get you, great warrior. I will have my revenge, Chyaku Norisu!"
Several of the Yamakosei managed to extract the fallen Lord Aurrik from the battlefield and return him to his castle far to the east. It took several months for him to recoperate from that single kick made by his advisary. To this day, it is said that Aurrik looks out of his balcony, towards the west, in hopes that the day for his revenge will come.

I feel like
I'm never complete.
When I peel away
these pieces of me.
Pieces to a puzzle,
the puzzle that was me.
A puzzle that will
never be complete.[/color:4a82ba2589]
