Okay so, this avatar's name is...
this girl's name is...
Clover.
Clover was raised to be a fairy,
but she was a little different.
She was that fairy.
The one with the half mutt [part elf, part troll] for a father.
And though she had one of the most beautiful pairs of wings in all of Windside,
she had skin the color of caterpillars, and hair that did not sparkle like the other's.
Because of this, her peer group rejected her-
and in class every morning, she would sit in the back corner of the class, all by her lonesome.
She'd try to do things to change who she was, like putting on makeup or body paint-
but nothing really worked.
And no matter how many times she washed with sparkle-shine berry shampoo, nothing helped.
She dreamed of killing her father, the father she never met, in her sleep.
Well, one day, after another failed attempt at joining into a group game,
Clover traveled to the swapiest part of the swamp.
And that special day, she took a closer look at something she'd never noticed before.
She had been playing with a leafball, bouncing it back and forth, when it rolled out of her hands and into the muck.
It rolled and she followed it, until it landed in a clump of moss.
Once she retrieved her ball, for some reason, she took a closer look at the moss.
It's tiny wires weaved in and out, through each ohter, all around and twisted- and it was a beautiful thing. It was just hard to see at first glance, because it didn't have that wow-factor like plants with flowers did. The beauty was hidden. That's when she thought- "Hey, maybe I have beauty too!"
The next morning when Clover walked into school, she had a new attitude. She was as happy as the birds in the springtime. Everyone seemed to notice- they took extra effort to bother her. Despite that though, she was still happy as a clam.
Later after class and walking back home, she saw a sign posted on a tree. It read, "Become one of the royal family! Prince Luther seeking a bride."
And with her newfound confidence, Clover decided to go to the tryouts.
Well, good spirits pop easily...
Clover was laughed out of the royal hall, banned permanently from the castle grounds. She cried her way to the swamp, going into the deepest parts of the muck to escape every living creature but the frogs, ugly like her. She got on her knees then, ruining her grass skirt, and cried out to the world in despair. "I WANT TO BE PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!"
And then before her appeared a frog. This frog had a wand.
"Yeesh. You woke me from my slumber with your depressing wails! I shall spare the creatures in this swamp and grant you a wish if it will stop this whining!"
Clover forced herself to stop crying and speak her wish out clearly. "I want to be pretty."
And with a wave of her wand, the frog made Clover pretty- and she didn't change a hair on her head. Looking in the water, she saw her new self- looking exactly the same but so much better, somehow. Then she realized- she had been pretty all along! She could just never see it in herself.
"Are you going to be using those creams anymore now, my darling?"
"Nope!"
And then, on her 13th birthday, (when all animals change to their final state),
Clover became practically a new person.
She grew ears like her dads and eyes of that of a bug. Her wings became covered in moss, and her feet grew into toad's feet! Everything was different-
and Clover embraced it.
"You know, I think I'll be my own royalty. I will be...
the Moss Queen!"
And that is the story of Clover, the Moss Queen.
She now has kids and loyal followers.
And yes, she stopped whining.
