A Monster and His Doll
Monster found this little porcelain Doll,
He found it, because he heard her call.
There she was, a battered little thing,
In her little torn up dress, even wearing a tiny ring.
He picked her up and brushed her off,
and smiled at her as she coughed.
She looked up with tears rolling down her face,
Monster wiped them away, and fixed her bow of lace.
Monster saw past her torn dress and beaten heart,
and realized that he wanted to replace the broken part.
Her hair was light and feathery like a dove,
and Monster saw that it was her he loved.
With glass eyes, a faded blue,
she looked at him and saw she loved him too.
She held out her broken, porcelain heart,
he took it and the cracks were fixed, now porcelain art.
He ran his claws through her hair like a comb.
He hugged her close, and took her home.
But, like all Monsters, he got tired of his Doll.
He stroked her hair, and said, "I'm sorry" As he watched her fall.
He walked away, Drowning out her sound.
She screamed and cried, wishing she'd never been found.
He dropped her heart, and watched the cracks return,
He sighed and rolled his eyes as it started to burn.
She looked up, eyes still a faded blue,
and saw that he no longer loved her too.
She dropped her head, letting it fall,
As she watched him hug a new doll.
She crawled to her broken heart, and grabbed a shard,
Mutilating herself, she can't take this, it's too hard.
She cried to him, "How many times can one heart be mangled and still be expected to beat!?"
He smiled, "I don't know, find out for yourself. Don't let that get to you, the heat." She cried again, as her once whole heart, turned to ash.
Her eyes faded out, watching him go away, gone in a flash.
So this is how the story ends, he'll turn her down and say, "Can't we be friends?"
