Theories running rampnt in GCD!

The Gaia Community Discussion forum. A normaly happy, pleasant place to visit when nothing new or exciting happens in our quaint world of Gaia. The GCD offers a relaxing atmosphere to kick back, and discuss eveything Gaia-related. But, just as other forums have their problems, the GCD is no exception. The ED has "elitists", the GD has loads of spam and the GCD has loads, upon loads, UPON LOADS of theory threads.

Now, the GCD dosen't seem to have an over-dose of theory thread regularly, mind you, but only when a plot update takes place. Nothing can be done, however, because of that all important GCD rule: "repeat topics are allowed." So now, whenever somthing new happens in the plot, or a new feature is released, the GCD is literally swarmed with "Robots shot gambino", "Liam is such a pimp", "Ian's gonna stab Gino! gonk ", "Gambino's still alive!", etc. The "tidal wave" of mostly retarded and half-baked theories leaves many GCD regulars to either find a new tempoary home forum, or hide out in a guild until the theories slowly start to die out. However, it's not that fact that the theories are there, that are bothering many "GCD Regulars", but the sheer number of the same repeated topics, offering little or no discussion what-so-ever, have been drowning out actual, intelligent, note-worthy discussions (which are stiil rare. >.<;; ). I have interviewed GCD regular, Pinkieswear, on her views of the theory threads taking over the GCD.

M: Hello there Pinkieswear. Would you mind if I interviewed you about the recent theory-flooding in the GCD?

P: Not at all. =3

M: Okay: So, what are your feelings about all the repeat theory threads?

P: Theories in general are fine in my book. I mean, the GCD would be absolutely pointless and dead without a good theory here and there. They get people's minds turning and thinking of the possibilites that can happen every plot update.

But then there are the few folks that think that they can copy someone else's and say that they thought of it so they can get the same attention as the first person. They end up getting flamed by people new to the GCD just here for the dish on the plot, and then they complain the whole GCD is filled with mean idiots.

I don't mind posting responses to theories, but I don't like having the same message on copy and paste. It gets old.

M: So, in your opinion, would you say that repeat theories are taking over the once calm GCD?

P: Yes, but it's only right that they would. Plot updates are the peak time for the GCD to come to life, just like how the Entertainment forum gets busy during the Oscar's, for example.

It's the same when it's around donation item time. People go crazy, and then it dies down in the middle of the month, and then it repeats itself. It's the same every month.

M: True, true. You're absolutly correct. Thanks alot Pinkieswear for helping to shed some light on the GCD current ststus.

P: Now I'm gonna go party. =D

M: whee

So there you have it: with every new plot twist, the GCD is thrown into a theory-frenzy and many regulars are left to fend for themselves. I only hope that one day, measures will be taken to cut back on the amount of annoying theories* to keep the GCD from turning into a temporary GD.
