Mostly just dreams now
Kia127
She shuddered as she held herself, walking down that long stretch of road. It was dirt, so it probaly wasn't used very often. However, the sunlight was a welcome change to the filtered, murky dirt that reached her in the woods.

It seemed to go on forever. She wasn't quite sure just how long she had been walking, but a dam opened up in front for her. A road ran across it, but she wasn't quite sure how to climb up the stiff, rocky cliff that got to the road. There was an abandoned, creaky playground to her right, and the raging river she had heard earlier, but never seen due to the thick trees, was on her lift.

The lone road continued up to a metal door, to the dam. It was white, with rust bolts showing occasionaly. Despite the shabbiness and rusted appearance of the dam, it was as sturdy as the oxidied chainlink fence that bordered the train to the door, to keep visitors and workers from falling in to the rapids below.

Shivering as a cold wind picked up, carrying fog in, she reached out for the door, hoping to seek shelter inside the dam.

She squealed some as she stepped into the darkened dam: It was cold. So very cold.

She tried the light switches but they didn't seem to work. Breathing sharply of the frigid air she felt around, and her hand traced over a strange slimey substance in certain areas, but the iron smell of the substance was lost to her from the rust of the metal walls and floor.

Something fell behind her and clicked on. With a jump she turned and shielded her eyes to the blinding and unexpected light: A flash light. Kneeling down she retreived it and set it in her coat pocket, wrapping her scarf around her tighter.

I don't like it here."
..HELLO! IS ANYONE IN HERE?!"

I wonder where everyone went...there's always supposed to be someone watching this place.

Holding herself for warmth she continued down the hall. Rusty metal walls gave way to dirtied off white concrete. The doors on the side of the hallway were locked, but there was one she still hadn't tried: At the end. The control room.

I wonder if anyone's here...? It's so lonely...

Kia127
Weakly she coughed: Something in the air didn't seem right, but she thought that, if she could shut the dam off, she could use the catwalk to get to the road above.
Still, the putrid stench grew as she grew closer to the door.

Shivering she looked behind her, feeling as if someone were watching her. Tired eyes fell on large...maggots? The eyes widened as she hurried inside the door, stench or not.

Her flashlight didn't seem to help much here. The darkness was overbearing, save for the bright boiler glaring at her from the far end of the room. It's red light fanned across the floor, flickering from an inferno within.

It provided no warmth.

The stench returned though, with the maggots gone. They were crawling towards her, no, towards...something in here. Her nose led her to look to the right, face to face with a hung man. A dead man. A bloodied, dead man.

She tried to scream but covered her mouth; Something wasn't right in this room.
The mutilated body hung limp on the wall, various long nails and screws driven through it's body. Some were even on the wall first-She couldn't guess how they had gotten into the concrete, but it was spoiled red now. He appeared to have been a worker, with the usual gray uniform. He must have hurt his wrist, while working, for there was a black bracer on his left hand. Peering in past the blood, she could see traces of a dark goatee gracing his chin, and his black hair was tied back in a low pony tail.

"How could you have...who could have done...!?"
Worried she looked around the room for the killer, though the man was long dead. Her gentle eyes rested on boxes of nails, near the growling boiler, and it clicked that they were projectiles...
