nothing without your friendship

being friends with you means everything to me,
you’re always there when I’m down,
and you’re always the one who makes me smile to myself during the day,
I care about you,
and I hope that you care about me a little bit,
even the smallest amount of respect for me would make me feel special,
but when we fight,
I can’t imagine how you could ever care for me or give me respect,
because I start the fights,
and you seem to drag them on and dig deeper and deeper into me,
feeling worse than ever,
but I can’t really blame you,
I deserve it,
you’re always so nice,
until I start acting like a b***h,
then you defend yourself like you rightfully should,
but I really can’t take the shots to my heart that you make,
you may not be aiming there,
but every time it hits dead center,
all I’m asking right now,
is for you to forgive me for the fights I start,
and for you to still consider me a friend,
that’s all I want,
you and me,
we need to be friends,
for always and forever,
because if we weren’t,
I wouldn’t be me,
I’d be nothing without your friendship.
