ok these are the rest of the pics that I didn't include in my other three photo archives... completely random, for the most part... whee
I take pics of flowers during the summer as a hobby... these were next to the garage.
this is Darling!!! whee I loves her soo much!! She is one of my favorite cats... funny thing is, she looks almost exactly like her adopted mother... rolleyes
oh yeah... did you know possums are marsupials?? One Saturday night, dad had shot a possum that was up at the house eating bacon grease we had put out for the cats. We thought nothing of it until Sunday afternoon, when mom wanted it off of her lawn. Dad picked it up, and little baby possums start falling out of it!!! eek Dad's face was absolutely green... I was like, "ICK!!! SOMEBODY GET THE CAMERA!!!" Turns out it was a momma possum we had shot, and there were 11 babies in its pouch... they looked like drowned rats with yellow underbellies, and they were covered in their own crap. They were crawling around the lawn, making very audible sounds that sounded like an oxygen tank... eek
and these are just a few of the MANY cats we have... cool I could name them all for you, but I'll spare you the boredom and amazement of my memory skills... ninja wink
these next two pics are of our band when we marched in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. That was fun... but uncomfortable because it was like 90 degrees out and we were wearing polyester uniforms... sweatdrop
... hehehe... just a random pic of some calves in the barn... ninja
these next 3 pics are of one of the most spoiled outside cats on the farm!! his name you ask? Baby, of course!! xp He was so cute when he was a kitten... when he became an adult cat this past summer, he began developing a cyst in his eyelid and it just kept getting bigger and bigger until it burst and then reformed again and again... this went on for about 6 months, and then on February 17 of this year, he died. gonk but the death looked peaceful... like he had fallen asleep and never woke up. I miss you tons, Baby-kins... (and I'm actually crying as I write this, too... )
when we go up north, we visit one of my aunt's good friends, who just happens to live next to a lake!! cool 3nodding whee (look to the pic above for a view of her backyard from the dock...) we go there every summer, and sometimes I take pics of her flowers...that's what these next two are of... rolleyes
dad hard at work...
oh yeah... about once or twice every summer, dad orders a MASSIVE shipment of hay for the next year for the cows... usually we all pitch in and help unload, plus we recruit the neighbor boys for extra help.
these next two were taken 2 years ago (I think) when I showed my (first and only) calf named Seven. This one was of the barn we kept them in during the fair... I think that's my favorite part of summer-- going to the fair everyday!! 3nodding
believe it or not, even though I live on a dairy farm, I'm scared of cows!! ninja so this was a big step for me... I can handle calves, but I'm scared the actual cows (ones who've calved-- cows who haven't calved are called heifers.) will run me over. But it's getting better, though... rolleyes wink cool oh and one of the things that confirmed my fear of these beasts is that last summer my dad was attacked by a HUGE bull and the only thing that saved his life was the fact that it was muddy out so the bull just shoved him in the mud and broke the impact a little... btw it took 11 bullets from a .22 rifle to put that bull down... 3 or more of those to the head.
... and we have a problem with possums, as you've seen earlier. This was one of the bigger ones (btw the thing it's on is actually a full-size dog-house...)
this is a dead racoon that my dad's holding. (duh?) xp
and this is the scene we see every summer on show day... 3nodding i love it... domokun
so yeah... thanks for coming!! heart
