when lilly got to her own house, she found her mother working in the pile of roses by their mailbox. when tirish looked up at the shadow that sulked up to her, she shrank back immidiatly. her daughter looked at her through blood red eyes and her canine teath protruded out of the corners of her mouth, cutting them and making them bleed. the blood dripped down her chin and onto her band uniform, that was wripped, exposing the white shirt underneith. if trish didnt know any better, she would have thought that lilly was a vampire.
tears welled in lillys eyes as she saw the frightened expression on her mothers face. but she had mistaken fear and dread for a mothers worry, and was shocked when her mother got up and embraced her.
"oh lilly." she said in a shacken voice. "you are a full wolf." at these words, lilly's shoulders sagged. she had dreaded this since she had first found out that her family was part wolf. "come now." said trish, pulling away and wipping her eyes. "before the neighbors figure out what we are." she said taking lilly by the hand and leading her inside.
as trish went to go get some fresh cloths for her, lilly couldnt help but notice the letter on the table with her high school insignia on it. picking it up she started to read it, as her mother came into her room with a pair of jeans and a red tee-shirt.
"your going to have your eyes and teeth like that for a couple of hours, but after that you should be fine. whats that dear?" asked trish when she saw that lilly was reading the letter.
"its informing us that prom is coming up." said lilly, taking the clothing her mother had handed to her.
"oh are you going to go?" asked trish.
"your kidding right? its untill midnight, i dont think i controll this wolf thing, and i dont have a date!" lilly complained. secretly she wanted to go, and she wanted to go with zac.
"i'll tell you a secret, stick to the shadows, and make sure you dont even look at the moon. as for your guy problem, well, maybe you can meet someone there. after all, your senior prom only comes once in a life time." said trish, leading her to the stairs. "come, we will find a dress tomarow, but right now u go and get changed. capeesh?" she finished in a 'im your mother tone.'
not wanting to here any objections, trish pushed her daughter up the stairs and into the room.
lilly suposed she was happy about this, but she was too scared to notice. meanwhile, the council of wolves secretly met to discuss their stratagy.
