My car is still at my sister's apartment. I have nothing really to do. Yesterday I watched a ton of movies.
L'Amant (The Lover)- Good movie. Lots of sex. Story about a poor young french colonist in the 1920's and a rich older chinaman. FORBIDDEN! He uses her because that's the only white girl that will have him. She uses him for his money. There's more to this, which makes it really good, but you have to watch to find out. (I cried)
Life is Beautiful- It's a drama/comedy. I didn't realize it was a holocaust film when I turned it on. The father is telling the son that they're going in a trip for his birthday and they have to get on a train (this is when I realized it), and it's supposed to be very crowded. The whole movie he risks his neck to keep his son from knowing what is going on. He tells him this whole thing is a game. Saying that the first person to win 1,000 points gets a tank. It's a great movie. (I cried)
Come to the Paradise- Takes place mainly in California in the 1940's with a Japanese family, most of which have been born in the United States. You know what this means? MORE CAMPS! The twist? An America falls in love with one of these Japanese Americans. They have to move to Boston, because California won't marry them. They have a child. There's a scene where he's bringing his half Japanese/half Irish daughter to sit on Santa's lap, and the man won't let him. They told him to bring her back to the orphanage. He left there and stole their Christmas tree without them noticing. Anyway, the family all has to go to the camp. Lots of drama happens. The dad gets stuck in the ARMY and then a few other things, so he's not able to see his family for a few years, despite his 24 hour leave and when he runs away. It's a great movie. Lots of making out. (I cried)
Legend- I own this movie. I've seen it a billion times. It's a fantasy movie about dark trying to take over light, which is normal for fantasy stories. It's Tom Cruise's SECOND movie, so it's quite amusing. It's a fairly good story. Unicorns. Faeries. Dwarfs. Goblins. What more can you need? The princess falls in love with a boy who lives in the woods. To impress her, he shows her unicorns. She touches one. The Goblins kill it because it's no longer pure. She gets pulled towards the dark. The rest of everyone try to save the other unicorn, which is a girl, so it can produce life. Good stuff.
Hook- I also own this movie. It is really good. Everyone watch it a zillion thousand billion times. Tagline: What is Peter Pan grew up? I'll tell you what, AWESOME, that's what! Peter Pan grows up, doesn't know he's Peter Pan...and he's a lawyer who is AFRAID OF HEIGHTS! Captain Hook steals his children, forcing Peter to go back to Never Land. Great movie. Watch it! (best character is the one who can become a human bowling ball)
