"what do you mean you better tell us the truth?" Kai said with a confused look as he sat down across from Rijael.
"Kai, just be quiet and listen!" Alexias said as she sat down as well curling her legs up underneath her.
"Well, where should we start?" Colin muttered as he was t elast to sit down. Shaking his head he looked at his sister.
"I guess we should start on how we came here. Our parents had passed away when there was a sudden earthquake. Colin and myself where lucky enough to get to a door way like we were taught to..." Rijael started. Shaking her head as ears came to her eyes.
"The room our parents were in at the time, the door was closed and got jammed and there was nothing in the room for them to hide under. The room collapsed and they where crushed. That same night Father Pecan came and brought us here." Colin finished looking at Rijael and patted her on the shoulder lightly.
"well just like you the next day we were brought up in front of everyone and had to say grace. Once finished we were allowed to go anywhere we wanted except passed the river" Rijael said as she wiped her eyes.
"Well we did what we were told for about a week. But having the same food over and over and over again we couldnt bare it. So we took a length of string and a paper clip from the mess hall. WE then went to the tree we are sitting in now and took a thin bendy branch. Ince we had finished we walked back to the edge of the river and made a fishing line putting it on the edge of the river in a small pot hole. Colin and myself made our way behind a bush out of the sun." Rijael continued as she looked at Kai and Alexias.
"Well while we were hiding in the bush Father Pecan and this other man we had not seen before came walking by. Well they stopped at the place our fishing pole was and broke it. 'we must keep an eye on the new comers, they may have already figured out what we are up to...so long as they dont pass the river we will be fine' the man said and they both walked away. Once we were sure they were gone we crossed over the river and walked along a dusty forgotten path into a small town. Here we went to the nearest shop and brought a bag and a heap of food. Once we had paid for it using the money we are ment to spend at the mess hall on days of market time, we made our way back to the old oak tree and hid the food up here making it our club house" Colin finished.
"but why did he hide the town?" Kai asked scratching his head
"I dont know what or why....Maybe we could work that out together" Coin and Rijael said in unison.
Alexias went through everything that was said in her mind before saying
"That is kinda what happened to us except..." She trailed of shaking her head.
"Rijael when Father Pecan is around do you feel cold at all?" Alexias asked looking at her.
"No I dont feel cold....Why do you ask?" Rijael said looking at Alexias with a little confusion.
"When Kai and myself went up to say grace, I felt really cold when Father Pecan place his hand on my shoulder....It felt like he was trying to suck all the happiness and warmth out of me trying to find what I am scared of the most so he could use it all against me" Alexias replied shaking her head.
"Well, we have to work together to find out what the hell Father Pecan is up too" Colin said standing up and looking at his pocket watch. "But for now we must get back to our cabins, meet here after breakfast tomorrow" He added as he packed away the food and the rubbish back into the bag.
"Okay, tomorrow we will plan what we are going to do" Rijael said as she made her way down the tree with Alexias, Kai and Colin
After saying farewell to their friends. The four of them broke off to their respective cabins with a sigh.
