that night, it rained
sweet smelling gardenia left us anew
and dew that pooled at my feet

watched the altruistic
curse us for our mistakes
there’s no such thing as flawless
she promised
no such thing as
childhood Fantasies
or which we choose to
Believe
in ‘perfection’
but I still left you
wrapped in that white; goddess
suns rose
and the time capsule slowly clicked open
click click click
the sound of Clock
dying with us
but even so you never skipped a beat

left us in our –my- reverie
and heartbeats drawn out
began to slow down
hey, it’s gone again
that feeling of Rain’s grace
and the world
that never seemed to
die.
I asked you why
we had fallen this far for an
empty corpse, you smiled
