You By: Gabriel A. Manfredy
As I sit by the tree on the starry cliff, watching the sunset, all I can see is you, smiling back at me. When I lay down in the field of flowers, watching the clouds go by, your smile is still there. You’ve always smiled at me, smiled with me.
Sometimes your smile fades, and I slowly start to drift into the darkness of hate and anguish. Even then, your smile is in my thoughts, in my dreams, in my heart.
I look around and see nothing but darkness, it consumes us, and then I drift again.
The light begins to shine and I wake to your smile once again. You were always there, waiting. Waiting for me to fight the darkness and reach out for you again.
I have fallen, I have failed. Had wished I could lay somewhere forever, so my shame could not be seen. But then you came. Your smile had awoken me from my slumber, and then you gave me your hand, your hand in redemption, your hand in forgiveness.
You told me ervything will be ok, and as I embrace you, I start to believe your smile will always be there.
You are my hope, you are my light, you are my savior.
You are hapiness…
You are…love.
