Little Katie: I feel... Hungry?
Mak: AWW! How sad! Do they feed you in any chance?
Little Katie: No.... They give us... Ratmeal... And Hardtack. It yucky! We no eat real food, our stomachs are to weak....
Mak: You guys get beaten up by the bigger kids?
Little Katie: Yes! One time I had a Cup-n-ball, the bigger kid, Big Stevie, beat me up and took it! His old daddy was a thug!
Mak: If you get adopted, how would you feel about that?
Little Katie: I don't think we going to get adopted, our raggy clothes are to poor for the adoption agency! But, I would feel very happy because I get address and people who love me. Mr. Sunnyfield say I someday get adopted!
Mak: How do you keep yourselves entertained?
Little Katie: We play with old candy rappers! We make our toys! We are to poor to get anything at stores. Ms. Stockingrain said she can't give us money for candy, our teeth and stomachs would go bad!
