The day was lovely, the sky filled with big fluffy clouds, and sun warmed ones skin until it felt like you were glowing with it's warmth. Ichi and Ryuu were browsing a market looking to buy some weapons for Ryuu.
Ryuu- *Ryuu bounced ahead of Ichi. Looking from table to table for the perfect weapon.* Ichi I can't find anything I like yet.
Ichigo- Just calm down and look.* He told her with a knowing smile.*
Ryuu- Okay I'll try. * She slowed down a bit, and continued to search the market for something she liked. As she passed a table with a belt of throwing knives she stopped and stared at them. The blades were made of steel and had a beautiful design etched into them. The hilts were silver and had a gold pattern running from bottom to top. She turned to Ichi and her eyes lit up.* Can I get these? Please?
Ichigo- *Ichigo frowned a bit then picked up two of the knives. He tossed one lightly from hand to hand then flipped it through the air. After a bit his seemed to approve of the quality.* How much do you want for these knives? *He asked the merchant.*
Merchant- I will take 3 gold pieces for them. You can not get a better deal then that. *The old man stated.*
Ichi- Indeed.* Ichi agreed. He then reached up and took the gold hoops out of his ears.* Would you except these as payment?
Ryuu- *She looked at Ichi a bit surprised* Are you sure you want to give those up? If they are important to you I wouldn't want to make you use them to pay for the knives.
Ichigo- They are less important to me then your safety.*He stated as he handed the ear hoops to the old man.*
Ryuu- You're sure. They weren't a gift from someone or anything? I'd feel awful if I made you sell a gift for my knives.
Ichigo- *Ichi refused to answer, he merely took that knives from the old man with a nod of thanks and handed them to Ryuu. He then grabbed her by the shoulders and turned her around.* Now find us a place of eating and no more arguments.*He whispered in her ear from behind.*
Ryuu- *She put the knives in her bag, and started walking in the direction of a small restaurant* They were a gift weren't they? That's why you won't answer.
Ichigo- It makes no difference.
Ryuu- But if it was a gift you shouldn't have had to sell them for me.
Ichigo- Alright I admit they were a gift. But the friend who gave them to me would say that I should protect my woman. And if he thought I would rather keep earrings then do that, he would no longer call me his friend.
Ryuu- Oh I see. I'm sorry if I brought something up you wouldn't want to talk about. He sounds really nice. Anyways we are almost to the restaurant. It's just a little farther. *She grabbed his hand to make sure they didn't get split up.*
Ichigo- Why would I not want to talk about my friend? He was the greatest man I have ever known. I wish I could be more like him.
Ryuu- I just thought maybe it might be a touchy subject.
