I like The Boondocks comic so much, that I bought the season 1 box set of the animated series without ever having seen it on TV. I don't have cable, so I couldn't see it without downloading it illegally anyway.
Turns out, it's pretty good. The colors are bright and the camera shots are different from what I see in other series. It's more like live action filming. The characters have been carried over pretty much intact from the strip. Huey is still a social revolutionary, Riley is still a rapper worshipping thug, and Granddad is still lost in the glory days of the civil rights movement. The show also has an sdult bite to it, with nudity, scantily dressed women, and the word"*****" spouted every two minutes. I'd like to catch season 2 sometime.
